On September 11, 2019, Russia's largest cruise company Vodohod launched its new river and sea-going ship of the PV300-design - MS Mustai Karim (Мyстай Карим). The official launching ceremony was held in Nizhny Novgorod at Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard.
The cruise ship is named after the popular Bashkir poet and writer, whose 100th birthday is celebrated in 2019. Mustafa Safich Karimov (Mustai Karim, 1919-2005) is the author of 100+ poetry and prose works. PV300 is the first large passenger riverboat built in the Russian Federation.
The vessel was designed as a luxury “hotel on the water” and has max passenger capacity 338. Mustai Karim is also Vodohod's newest and largest vessel so far. It is scheduled to make her first voyage with passengers in May 2020.
Mustai Karim's sistership (a modified PV300 design passenger vessel - project PV300LMPP-110) is MS Pyotr Velikiy (Пётр Великий / Peter The Great).
