Washougal is a Columbia River cruise port and town in Washington USA (Clark County) with population around 17,000. Camas (population around 26,000) borders Washougal (to the east) and Vancouver WA (to the west). Port Camas-Washougal comprises Parker's Landing Waterfront featuring a premium boat marina, leisure facilities, residential buildings. The Port is at the Washington-Oregon border (across from Troutdale to the south) and is part of the Portland Metro/Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro metro area (population over 2,7 million) whose principal city is Portland OR.

Camas-Washougal is the gateway to the Columbia River Gorge (max depth 4000 ft / 1219 m) stretching for 80+ mi/130 km through the Cascade Range (Cascades mountain range) and forming the Washington-Oregon border. Cascade Range's three volcanoes (Mt Hood, Mt Adams, Mt St Helens) are the Gorge's main tourist attractions. Mount Hood is in Oregon (being the state's highest elevation point 11250 ft / 3429 m) while Adams and Saint Helens are in Washington (across the river).

Camas WA (1906-incorporated) has several waterways and is famous for its numerous public parks (all within the town limits). These popular for summer tourism destinations include lakes (Lacamas, Round, Fallen Leaf, Tug), the rivers Washougal and Columbia, the Lacamas Heritage Trail Park (encompassing Round Lake), Heritage Park (encompassing Lacamas Lake), nature parks (Crown, Dorothy Fox, Fallen Leaf, Forest Home, Goot, Grass Valley, Louis Bloch, Oak) as well as the Sports Park Prune Hill and the Skate Park. All parks have camping sites, outdoor playgrounds, picnic areas, and parking lots with capacity to accommodate car trailers.

Washougal WA (1908-incorporated) is approx 18 mi (29 km) east of Vancouver WA. Like Camas, Washougal also has several recreational parks, the largest of which are Angelo, Beaver, Campen Creek, and Hathaway. Washougal was founded in the mid-19th-century (1852) by the Ough family which belongings (along with native American artifacts) are displayed at the Two Rivers Heritage Museum in downtown.
