Erlangen (Erlang) is a Main River cruise port city located in Bavaria, Germany. The city lies north-west of Nuremberg at the confluence of Regnitz River and its tributary Schwabach. It is connected with Main River via Bamberg. Erlangen covers a total area of approx 77 km2 (30 ml2) and has population around 110,000.

- Bergkirchweih is an annual beer festival, similar to Oktoberfest held in Munich (though smaller in scale). This festival alone draws over 1 million visitors per year. The event takes place during the 12 days before and after Pentecost (t49 days after Easter). This period is called "5th season" by the locals. Beer is served in 1L (33 US ounces) stoneware jugs on wooden tables. The festival is held under the trees of "Berg", small and wooded hill with old beer cellars (caves) owned by local breweries. The caves extend for 21 km (14 ml) throughout the hill and maintain constant cool underground temperature.
