Stykkisholmur is a port town in western Iceland (on Snaefellsnes Peninsula's northern part) with a population of around 1200. The region's economy is traditionally based on the commercial fishing industry and tourism. A daily scheduled passenger ferry service links Breidafjorður (shallow bay, 125x50 km) with Westfjords Peninsula (northwestern Iceland).

Stykkisholmur also is the gateway to Flatey Island. The settlement was established in the mid-16th century (1550) as a trading post. Since 1994, annually (in August) the town held the Danskir Dagar festival.

As a cruise port, Stykkisholmur is visited by smaller-sized luxury ships from premium brands like Seabourn, Silversea, Ritz-Carlton, Hapag-Lloyd, Hurtigruten.
