Tulln an der Donau is a Danube River cruise port and town in Austria's state of Lower Austria, with population around 15,000. Tulln is a scenic town included in cruises as a more locally focused alternative to Austria's major cruise destinations. The town is known for its Roman heritage, landscaped riverfront, large gardens and connections to the painter Egon Leo Adolf Ludwig Schiele (1890-1918). Its location west of Vienna (~35 km/21 mi road distance) also makes it a useful gateway to the wider Danube region.

As a cruise port, Tulln an der Donau was included in the 2026-launched/2027-inaugurated premium river cruise brand, Celebrity River Cruises. The exact passenger experience depends on the itinerary, docking arrangements, and excursions offered.

The next table shows a 7-night Celebrity itinerary making an inaugural visit to Tulln in 2027.

Tulln has a long relationship with river transport and offers a particularly convenient riverside setting. Its Donaulände promenade and guest harbour are located beside the downtown, making the waterfront an attractive starting point for sightseeing.

Tulln's cruise dock/landing site is at the Donaulände (near the Minorite monastery), about a 3-minute walk. The public harbor has a roughly 60-m/200-ft jetty intended for 8 boats, with free mooring but no shoreside electricity or water at that berth. The waterfront is integrated into the town's recreational and cultural areas, with restaurants, public toilets, cycling facilities and attractions nearby.

Tulln is often called Austria's garden city, but is also famous for its Roman archaeology, as the birthplace of the influential modern Austrian artist Egon Schiele (Austrian Expressionism, Vienna Secession, Art Nouveau/Jugendstil), historic buildings and an attractive esplanade/riverside promenade. The town's most popular attractions include the Egon Schiele Museum (best known for his psychologically intense portraits and distinctive, angular figures), Die Garten Tulln (a permanent garden exhibition with ~70 show gardens, sustainable landscaping ideas, and a treetop walkway with panoramic views), the Roman Tower and Comagenis (aka the Salt Tower, part of the fortifications of Comagenis), Hauptplatz and the historic downtown (Tulln's main square featuring historic architecture, traditional cafes, shops, landscaped areas and outdoor seating), Donaulände and Hundertwasser's Regentag (the landscaped Danube promenade and the moored in the cruise harbor Regentag ship of Friedensreich Hundertwasser), and the Minorite Church and Monastery (a historic religious complex).

For a shorter cruise port call, Tulln is a walking tour destination/guided excursion combining the Roman Tower, Egon Schiele Museum, historic downtown and the Danube promenade. On longer port visits, Die Garten Tulln is usually visited. The TULLI EXPRESS (town's sightseeing train) also links several tourist attractions, including the gardens, cruise harbor, Roman Tower and museum area.
