Carnival Tropicale cabins review
Carnival Tropicale is the second ship in the CCL fleet (after Festivale) to feature cabin bathrooms with glass-door showers and in-shower shaving bars. She also has the fleet's newest and largest "Carnival Excel" suites.
Over 70% of all staterooms are outside cabins, with 300 pairs designed as connecting/family rooms. Balcony cabins feature sliding floor-to-ceiling glass doors. Lounge areas are furnished with new-style sofabeds (couch beds with storage footstools), under-bed suitcase storage, bedside flexible reading lamps, mini-refrigerators with transparent doors, multiple power outlets, USB ports (located on the vanity table and bedside), additional shelving for electronics, and large wardrobes (with folding shelves, sliding shoe racks, and two pull-out bins).
Below is a review of Carnival Tropicale staterooms, including amenities, furniture, and complimentary services:
The ship has 80 wheelchair-accessible cabins for guests with disabilities, distributed across the following categories: OS-Ocean Suite (4), DS-Premium Suite (4), HE-Havana Cabana (3), Balcony (39), Oceanview (6), and Interior (24).
Carnival Tropicale’s suite categories (Grand, Cloud 9 Spa, Ocean, Junior) include two twin beds (convertible to a King), a dressing area with walk-in closet, vanity table with chair, and a private bathroom featuring a WC, shower, bathtub, bidet, and double-sink vanity. Some GS-OS suites include a single or double sofabed for a third or fourth guest.
All balcony cabins have a private step-out veranda, accessed via sliding glass doors, furnished with one table and two patio chairs.
Cloud 9 Spa cabins offer exclusive access to the spa facilities on Deck 5 (forward-starboard) and are available in the following grades: Spa Suite (SS), Spa Balcony (8S, 8P, 8T), Spa Oceanview with obstructed views (6S, 6T), and Spa Inside (4S, 4T). These cabins include complimentary access (for two guests per stateroom) to the Thermal Suite and Spa Whirlpool, two Yoga or Pilates fitness classes, two metabolism tests, one Thermal Suite Scrub Kit, bathrobes, slippers, deluxe Elemis bath amenities, and priority spa reservations (by 6 pm on embarkation day). Spa discounts while docked include 20% off the first treatment, 30% off the second, and 40% off the third.
Premium Vista Balcony cabins are located at the ship's aft corners and offer wrap-around balconies. Extended Balcony cabins come in two categories—8N and 8M—both located aft and featuring 50% larger balconies, three closets, and full bathrooms with showers.
Oceanview cabins include picture windows and twin beds (non-convertible to King when upper beds are in use). Some offer sofabeds or Pullman beds for a third or fourth guest. Spa Oceanview cabins have obstructed views and may include Pullman beds.
Inside cabins may feature either a Porthole Window (PT) or Picture Window (4J). Some Porthole rooms include a sofabed for a third guest, while Picture Window rooms may have sofabeds and/or Pullman beds. Smaller Inside cabins are equipped with bunk beds (upper/lower Pullman), a living area with vanity and chair, and a bathroom with WC and shower.
New Family Harbor staterooms include FS-Suites, FO-Family Harbor Aft Balcony, FM-Cove Balcony, FJ-Deluxe Oceanview, FE-Oceanview, and FA-Interior. These cabins offer expanded living areas and greater sleeping capacity, with features like double sofabeds and additional bunk beds. Located near the Family Harbor Lounge (Deck 4 forward-midship), guests enjoy 24-hour dining, concierge service, games, and a large movie screen.
Havana category staterooms, located aft on decks 6, 8, and 9, offer exclusive access to the Havana outdoor area (pool, Cuban-themed bar, and lounge). Havana Cabana Suites include a rain shower and deluxe hammock on the balcony.
Carnival Tropicale has over 180 suites in 11 categories, including 32 top-tier "Carnival Excel" suites in four categories. These suites include upgraded VIP amenities and exclusive access to Loft 19 (a resort-style sundeck on Deck 19 forward). Perks include:

The Sail & Sign card functions as a cashless onboard account and stateroom key. All purchases and gratuities are charged to the assigned card, which is accepted for all transactions except in the casino (cash only). Cards are issued at boarding for all guests, including minors, with balance info available at Guest Services or via in-room smart HDTVs.
The interactive TV system allows guests to access the Internet, purchase on-demand movies (approx. 25 titles at $5 each; adult content $10), order room service, and view Sail & Sign account info. Depending on satellite coverage, complimentary channels include major US networks, TCM, Boomerang, Cartoon Network, TNT, TBS, and Carnival-exclusive channels (Fun Finds, Cruise Director, Fun Aboard, Park West Art, Shore Tours, Ship Position, live webcams, Audible Funtimes, Photo, Music). Cigarettes and e-cigarettes are permitted in designated indoor areas, while cigars and pipes are restricted to outdoor areas only.

All suites include priority embarkation, debarkation, and tendering, as well as preferred dining room reservations, complimentary bottled water, premium plush bathrobes, one free laundry bag per cruise, and enhanced turndown service.
Guests may customize cabin steward service by choosing morning, evening, or twice-daily cleaning.
