Icon Of The Seas cabins review

Of all Icon of the Seas staterooms (2,805 total in 28 grades), around 70% have balconies, and over 80% can accommodate three or more guests. Wheelchair-accessible cabins total 50.

Icon OTS offers 179 suites, 1,815 balcony cabins, 276 oceanviews, and 535 interior staterooms across 31 categories. Fourteen of these are new for RCI, including larger family-friendly designs. New categories include Inside Plus, Panoramic Ocean View (redesigned cabins and suites), Infinite Balcony, Family Infinite Balcony, Surfside Family Suite, Sky Junior Suite, Sunset Suite, Sunset Corner Suite, Icon Loft Suite, and the Ultimate Family Townhouse.

In addition to the 22 elevators (located in the forward and aft atriums) and all staircases, an escalator connects Decks 2, 4, and 5.

All Icon OTS cabins include as standard: two twin beds (convertible to a Royal King), ample closet/drawer space, en-suite bathroom (WC, shower, single-sink vanity, hairdryer, bath products), sitting area (mirrored desk/vanity, drawers, couch/convertible sofabed), smart HDTV (infotainment system, Internet, on-demand movies), direct-dial phone, electronic safe, lifejackets (in the closet), minibar, 24-hour room service (complimentary 5 am–12 am), European and US/UK electrical outlets, USB charging points, individual air-conditioning, and mood lighting.

The ship’s climate control system is computer-managed for energy efficiency. When guests leave their cabin and disembark at ports, the system automatically switches to eco mode after SeaPass card scans confirm they are ashore. Upon reboarding, scanning the SeaPass card restores the previous cabin settings.

All balcony cabins feature floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors leading to private step-out verandas.

"Panoramic Ocean View" cabins and suites are located in the AquaDome Neighborhood and feature wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows.

"Infinite Balcony" cabins function as French Balcony staterooms, with drop-down panoramic windows enclosing the veranda. With the push of a button, the terrace can be transformed into indoor space, separated by accordion doors. This concept debuted on Celebrity Cruises’ EDGE-class ships.

"Family Infinite Balcony" cabins sleep up to six guests and feature split bathrooms, a separate kids’ bedroom with bunk beds, and an infinite balcony.

"Surfside Family Suite," located in the Surfside Neighborhood, accommodates four guests. It offers a kids’ bedroom (convertible into a lounge) and provides Royal Suite Class perks.

"Sunset Corner Suite" (the fleet’s first) consists of aft-facing accommodations with large wraparound terraces.

The "Ultimate Family Townhouse" is a unique three-deck suite with private access to the Surfside Neighborhood. It features an indoor dry slide, media/cinema room, karaoke room, and a spacious terrace. In February 2023, Michael Bayley (Royal Caribbean’s President and CEO) announced that this suite was already 55% sold for 2024, with an average price of USD 75,000 per week (about USD 10,700 per night).

The three-deck Suite Neighborhood houses top-tier suites and features a two-deck sundeck and an expanded Coastal Kitchen (suite-exclusive, now two levels). The exclusive sundeck, accessible only to Star Class and Sky Class, has its own pool, Jacuzzi, and The Grove – a casual Mediterranean dining venue.

Suite categories (high to low) are: Family Townhouse, Royal Loft, Icon Loft, Owner’s, Infinite Grand, Grand, Sunset Corner, Surfside Family, Sunset, Junior, and Panoramic (with windows).

RCI’s ICON-class ships feature a four-deck Crew Neighborhood accommodating 2,350 crew. New patented crew cabins have an L-shaped bed layout. Each cabin houses two crew members and includes TV, writing table, sockets with USB ports, storage, privacy curtains, fixed lower and upper bunks (with stair access), and laminate flooring.

Star Class staterooms include Royal Genie Service, exclusive access (Suite Lounge, Suite Sun Deck, Coastal Kitchen, The Grove), complimentary amenities (gratuities, Internet, specialty dining, Deluxe Beverage Package, Refreshment Package, stocked minibar, laundry/pressing services), daily bottled water, expedited embarkation/disembarkation, reserved seating at select venues, and priority access to activities.

Sky Class staterooms include Concierge Service, exclusive access (Coastal Kitchen, The Grove, Suite Lounge, Suite Sun Deck), complimentary Internet, and priority embarkation, disembarkation, and dining reservations.

Sea Class staterooms include dining at Coastal Kitchen.

Sea, Sky, and Star suites feature Lavazza coffee machines. Sky and Star suites in the Suite Neighborhood also enjoy exclusive access to The Grove Suite Sun Deck with expanded pool facilities.
