Astoria Grande deck plan review at CruiseMapper provides newest cruise deck plans (2025-2026-2027 valid floor layouts of the vessel) extracted from the officially issued by Akvilon Russia+Miray Cruises Turkey (Small Cruise Lines) deckplan pdf (printable version).
Each of the Astoria Grande cruise ship deck plans are conveniently combined with a legend (showing cabin codes) and detailed review of all the deck's venues and passenger-accessible indoor and outdoor areas. A separate link provides an extensive information on Astoria Grande staterooms (cabins and suites), including photos, cabin plans and amenities by room type and category.
MS Astoria Grande (built in 1996 as "MS Clubschiff", formerly known as "AIDAcara", last refurbished by AIDA in 2018, with a final drydock in 2021) was the first and oldest of the four smallest AIDA Cruises ships, followed by AIDAvita, AIDAaura, and AIDAmira (formerly Costa neoRiviera, now sailing as Ambassador Ambition). A significant refit in 2005 increased AIDAcara’s passenger capacity, and in 2009 she was redesigned to reflect the style of AIDA’s newer Sphinx-class ships.
IMPORTANT: On June 23, 2021, Carnival Corporation announced the sale of AIDAcara to the Russian shipping company Akvilon Ltd OOO. After 25 years of service, she left the AIDA fleet and was renamed "Astoria Grande".
The Astoria Grande/AIDAcara deck plan includes a total of 590 cabins accommodating 1186 passengers (maximum capacity 1339), with service provided by 370 crew members. The vessel has 11 decks (9 accessible to passengers, 4 with cabins), 3 restaurants, 6 bars and lounges (no casino or conference facilities), 1 swimming pool, 1 Jacuzzi (outdoor whirlpool), and 5 elevators.
Complimentary dining options (included in the AIDAcara cruise fare) were available at the Markt and Calypso buffet restaurants. The specialty Rossini Restaurant was reservation-only and charged extra. House wine and beer were included during lunch and dinner at the buffets.
AIDAcara Deck Plan Changes – 2016 Refurbishment Review
The ship underwent its last major drydock refurbishment from January 26 to February 6, 2016, at the Cadiz Shipyard in Spain, operated by NAVANTIA Shiprepairs.
- Routine maintenance was carried out.
- All passenger cabins were renovated, and approximately 1800 m² of new carpeting was laid in public areas.
- The hull and superstructure were repainted (over 12,000 m² above and below the waterline).
- The Pool Bar (Deck 10) and Calypso Bar (Deck 9) were redesigned, and a new outdoor seating area was added on Deck 9.
- The Anytime Bar (disco on Deck 11) was refurbished, including a redesigned dancefloor.
- The gym on Deck 9 received new equipment, including cardio diagnostic tools.
- The AIDA Store (Deck 8) began selling GAASTRA-branded clothing, and the jewelry section was redesigned to include the Danish brand Bering.
- A new height-adjustable photo kiosk was installed at the Photo Gallery & Shop (Deck 8).
This refurbishment celebrated the ship’s 20th anniversary. Christened on June 7, 1996, AIDA's first vessel marked the beginning of a revolution in the German cruise market.
During a previous drydock in 2013, the ship’s stateroom amenities were upgraded, and all public areas received new carpets and furnishings.
