Review of Celebrity Xcel deck 5 (Bazaar2-Shops2)

The fore-located Theater (upper level 3 of 3) is the fleet's most technologically advanced show lounge with 7 stage areas (3 large and 4 smaller). Here are held fleet's largest number of production shows, with the largest number of performing crew on any premium-brand ship. Theater's main stage is extending (into the audience) and is flanked by 2x directional rotating platforms raising over 2 m (7 ft) above main stage. Lounge's design and technology also feature 2x rotating spiral staircases, 10 synchronized (mobile) projection screens, 16 video mapping laser projectors, rigging for aerial performances. The Theatre offers 5 new full shows, including Shakespeare-based "A Hot Summer Night's Dream" (with acrobatics), "The Jewelry Box" (technological), "Kaleidoscope" (high-energy music and dance), and 2 new "Headline Residency" program-based shows - "Get Up" (pop concert by Black Skull Creative) and "The Purpose" (celebrating the inner self).

***The Annex is a reservable space for private get-togethers where guests can bond over a round of virtual golf, soccer, baseball, watch a movie, or host a karaoke night.

The Art Gallery has artworks on display and hosts daily exhibitions and sales. All onboard art auctions are held by Park West Gallery (specializing in cruise ship art auctions at sea).

The Celebrity Shops are duty-free boutiques and shops that sell Celebrity Cruises-logoed merchandise, brand watches, jewelry, shoes, handbags, perfumes, fashion clothing and accessories, sunglasses, souvenirs and gifts, alcohol, tobaccos, sundries, travel essentials, snacks, beverages, confectioneries, books, electronics.

***Celebrity Flagship is the fleet's first hybrid retail-exhibit shop tracing Celebrity Cruises’ history through interactive screens and curated artifacts. The store offers for purchasing logoed merchindise, including keepsakes (water bottles, cocktail kits, keychains, caps, robes) and exclusive products sold only on Celebrity Xcel.

***The Attic at The Club is an entertainment lounge suffused with neon light. Tailored for adults, the gaming room invites guests to enjoy classic arcades (Pac‑Man, NBA Showtime, Golden Tee) and traditional bar games (pool, darts, foosball, shuffleboard). Private-event bookings are also available for activities including karaoke and golf‑simulator sessions.

Fine Cut Steakhouse ($55 PP surcharge) is a premium steakhouse and seafood restaurant. The menu features Berkshire pork belly, pan-seared scallops, filet mignon (6- or 9-oz), herb-marinated veal chop (14-oz), USDA prime boneless ribeye (14-oz) and NY Strip (14-oz), braised beef short ribs, grilled sea bass, split-roasted Maine lobster, lamb chops, barley bourguignon risotto. There are 6 side dishes in the menu, including parmesan truffle steak fries, creamy mushroom fricassee, smoked bacon mac and cheese, creamed spinach.

"Raw on 5" is a la carte-priced seafood restaurant open for dinner. Diners here can also eat on the Magic Carpet (Dinner on the Edge). The raw bar offers hot and cold items, including crabs, lobsters, oysters, sushi, sashimi, shrimp salad, lobster rolls, New England clam chowder, Japanese noodles, caviar, edamame, 2 seafood towers.

World Class Bar is a small bar lounge serving the Grand Plaza.

Blu Restaurant is exclusive for AquaClass and Suite passengers and offers lighter cuisine ("spa-inspired").

***Market At The Bazaar is a dynamic retail and experiential space designed to bring the cultural shopping experiences of the ship's destinations onboard. The Market is not a traditional cruise ship store. Instead, it functions as a rotating pop-up marketplace featuring local artisans who come onboard to showcase and sell their crafts, such as authentic Caribbean masks, traditional Mexican leather hats, and other unique souvenirs. Beyond shopping, it is highly experiential, offering guests opportunities to participate in activities like live basket-weaving demonstrations, rum and chocolate pairings, and local hot sauce tastings led by the artisans themselves. A key feature is that its offerings are itinerary-dependent and change multiple times throughout a sailing to align with the four different destination-inspired festivals (e.g., Viva, Aqua, Carnival) celebrated in The Bazaar. This ensures that even on sea days, guests can continue to immerse themselves in the culture and flavors of the ports they are visiting.

***Spice Cafe serves The Bazaar with complimentary fast-food (sandwiches) for breakfast and lunch and has 2 outdoor areas for alfresco dining and relaxation.

THE BAZAAR (mid level 2 of 3)

THE BAZAAR is the replacement of the EDEN complex on previous EDGE-class ships. It is designed as an immersive, ever-transforming area that aims to erase the line between ship and shore by bringing destination experiences shipboard. The concept revolves around hosting different destination-inspired festivals throughout the cruise, each reflecting the culture, flavors, sights, and sounds of the ports visited.

The Bazaar is a three-deck venue (aft on decks 4-5-6) combining a bar lounge (The Bazzar)), two dining venues (Mosaic Restaurant, Spice Cafe), and a retail shopping complex (Market at The Bazaar). Its outward-facing design offers a signature dining experience (light lunches, 5-course dinners, wine tastings), daily lectures, and live performances.

The 3-deck Bazaar complex includes the following venues:

Market at The Bazaar is an interactive retail shopping zone where local artisans showcase crafts and offer demonstrations and food tastings.

The Mosaic Restaurant is an open-kitchen venue serving regionally-inspired dishes and offers a Chef's Table (VIP dining room) experience.

The Spice Cafe is for casual dining (rotating bites).

The Chef's Studio provides destination-inspired cooking classes.

The Bazaar's programming, including its retail and activity offerings, changes multiple times per cruise to align with the festival themes. This venue is a central part of Celebrity Xcel's identity and features different festivals when the ship sails in the Caribbean versus the Mediterranean. Ultimately, The Bazaar represents Celebrity Cruises' significant investment in destination immersion and is one of seven new experiences introduced on Celebrity Xcel.

A 90-meter (295 ft) ramp winds through The Bazaar, providing panoramic views from wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling windows. The unique furniture and interiors are by Patricia Urquiola (Spain), who also designed the "Library of Plants" and hanging plant pillars. The venue was designed by Scott Butler (Wilson Butler Architects, Boston MA), and evening shows are curated by Variety Worldwide (New York).

Grand Plaza

The Grand Plaza serves as the ship's epicenter (midship location), spanning 3 decks. The venue mixes modernity and simplicity and was inspired by the charming era of Transatlantic ocean liners.

The unique space has a striking lighting feature - The Chandelier, an art installation rising over Martini Bar to the ceiling 3 decks above. It is composed of 5 levels and a total of 765 blades illuminated via dynamic LED strips changing their colors from day to night, The Chandelier weighs 7 tons.

The Grand Plaza houses many of the liner's new specialty restaurants, including Fine Cut Steakhouse and Raw on 5 (Deck 5) Le Grand Bistro and Cafe al Bacio (Deck 4), Grand Plaza Cafe (Deck 3), Italian piazzas. At its center (Deck 3) is Martini Bar. Adorning the edges of Grand Plaza are hand-stitched mesh screens that combine 13500+ art pieces made of leather, fabric and metal.

Grand Plaza's cafes are the perfect choice for "coffee breaks" - from morning cappuccino to afternoon tea and pre-dinner cocktails - while enjoying live entertainment. In the evenings, Grand Plaza transforms into the boat's social hub with live music performances.
