Celebrity Xcel deck plans
Deck layouts, review of facilities, activities, amenities
Celebrity Xcel deck plan review at CruiseMapper provides newest cruise deck plans (2025-2026-2027 valid floor layouts of the vessel) extracted from the officially issued by Celebrity Cruises deckplan pdf (printable version).
Each of the Celebrity Xcel cruise ship deck plans are conveniently combined with a legend (showing cabin codes) and detailed review of all the deck's venues and passenger-accessible indoor and outdoor areas. A separate link provides an extensive information on Celebrity Xcel staterooms (cabins and suites), including photos, cabin plans and amenities by room type and category.
Celebrity Xcel (2025-built) is the fifth and final ship in the "EDGE-class" of Celebrity Cruises ships, following her sisterships: Celebrity Edge (2018), Celebrity Apex (2021), Celebrity Beyond (2022), and Celebrity Ascent (2023).
Celebrity Xcel's deck plans show a total of 1,646 staterooms accommodating 3,276 passengers (maximum capacity 3,950), served by 1,400 crew/staff housed in 726 crew cabins. Of all staterooms, 81% are Balcony, 10% Oceanview, and 9% Inside. A total of 1,305 cabins support triple and quad occupancy. There are 178 connecting cabins and 25 wheelchair-accessible cabins.
The vessel has 16 decks (15 accessible to passengers, 10 with staterooms) and 32 food and beverage venues, including 15 restaurants (4 main dining rooms, 5 cafes, 6 first-in-fleet specialty restaurants) and 12 bars and lounges. Guest movement is facilitated by 12 elevators and 4 stairwell clusters.
The innovative "Infinite Veranda" cabins are 23% larger than the Solstice-Class balcony cabins, with bathrooms that are 10% more spacious. In-room automation enables passengers to control nearly everything—lighting, shades, temperature, media, and room service—via touchscreen technology.
New Features (Edge-Class Ship Design Enhancements)
Compared to her EDGE-class sisterships Apex and Edge, Celebrity Xcel is 20 m (66 ft) longer, one deck taller, with 179 additional staterooms and ~12% more volume (GT 140,600). She features numerous design improvements, including new venues and expanded public areas.
New spaces aboard Celebrity Xcel include Le Voyage (a 50-seat specialty restaurant by Daniel Boulud), a redesigned Luminae (suite-only restaurant by designer Kelly Elaine Hoppen), an upgraded Pool Deck, an expanded Rooftop Garden (Deck 15, featuring larger shaded seating areas, two infinity pools, and an enlarged Rooftop Grill Bar), a Sunset Bar twice the original size (aft on Deck 15), and an enlarged Retreat (suite-only bar lounge forward on Deck 15).
- The Resort Deck (Deck 14) features a 23-meter (75-ft) lap pool with in-pool chaise loungers, a terraced sundeck, two-deck-high Jacuzzi tubs (martini-glass shaped), sunken seating areas, and a life-size elephant statue.
- The Sunset Bar (Deck 15) is a Casablanca, Morocco-themed outdoor lounge with a pergola-covered entrance, cascading terraces, covered enclaves, and cozy conversation areas.
- The Retreat is a three-deck exclusive suite complex located forward-midship, featuring The Retreat Lounge (Deck 15), a Lower Sundeck (Deck 16, with a glass roof over The Solarium's pool on Deck 14), and The Retreat Sundeck (Deck 17), which includes cabanas (available for rent), premium deck furniture, a round pool, two plunge pools (cantilevered hot tubs), outdoor showers, and restrooms—all served by The Retreat Bar.
- Le Voyage Restaurant, with 50 seats, was created in partnership with Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud (owner of seven New York City restaurants and six others globally). The restaurant features a curated wine list and high-end service by professional sommeliers. Designed by Jouin Manku, the venue offers intimate seating cocoons and custom designer lighting.
Architect Tom Wright (WKK Architects) redesigned and expanded many outdoor spaces, including the Resort Deck, The Retreat, and the Rooftop Garden. The Resort Deck is approximately 40% larger than those on Apex and Edge.
The three-deck Grand Plaza, an open-floor midship space, was enlarged to accommodate a full-circle Martini Bar at its center (Lobby Level/Deck 2). The Grand Plaza's chandelier has a new design and features hundreds of LED lights.
New to Celebrity Xcel are AquaClass SkySuites, offering floor-to-ceiling windows, spacious private terraces, premium bedding, and wellness amenities. Since 2022, all AquaClass guests (fleetwide, excluding Galapagos ships) enjoy complimentary wellness services, including fitness kits by Gwyneth Paltrow's goop brand and customized wellness programming through Celebrity’s "Women in Wellness" initiative.
Celebrity Xcel also includes signature Edge-Class features:
- A two-level Atrium stairway overlooking a terrace with a 1-meter (3-ft) deep plunge pool.
- Pool Deck 14 (midship) is a resort-style area with a lap pool, chaise loungers overlooking the sea, a large LED screen, and six private cabanas (starboard side, available for rent). By night, it transforms into a party space with live music and movies.
- The Rooftop Garden is a live greenery lounge with cozy seating, ambient lighting, decorative plants, and a large LED screen for movies and entertainment. At night, it becomes a reservation-only lounge with live performances and dinner pairings under the stars.
- "Luminae At The Retreat" is a two-level specialty restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows, exclusive to suite guests.
- The Solarium is an adults-only area.
- The Pool Deck also features one lap pool (23 m / 75 ft), two whirlpools, and a two-deck Walking-Jogging Track (400 m / 1,320 ft).
Celebrity Xcel offers "friction-less arrival" check-in, combining geofenced beacons and facial recognition software. Guests can access their staterooms via smartphone using the "Virtual Concierge" app, which also controls in-room systems such as lighting, air-conditioning, curtains, alarm clock, and media. The app enables reservations for dining, spa, and activities, as well as in-room service orders. The app’s digital map uses phone sensors to improve navigation based on current location.
Magic Carpet ("Outdoor Elevator Lounge")
A hallmark of EDGE-class ships is the Magic Carpet—a tennis court-sized, glass-roofed, cantilevered platform mounted on the starboard side that moves vertically along 14 decks. This open-air venue offers stunning sea views, comfortable seating, a full bar, and a live music stage. The Magic Carpet transforms into different venues depending on its deck position.
Guests cannot ride the Magic Carpet as an elevator. It remains locked in place before passengers can board, and it is repositioned without guests onboard. Some furniture pieces are fixed for stability.
The Magic Carpet changes its function based on its deck location:
- On Deck 16 (above the pool deck), it becomes a specialty restaurant offering the exclusive "Dinner on the Edge" al fresco experience.
- On Deck 14 (Resort Deck), it extends the pool deck and hosts live music performances.
- On Deck 5 (Dining Deck), it serves as an outdoor extension to the ship’s main dining venue.
- On Deck 2 (Tendering Deck), it transforms into part of the Destination Gateway—a tender embarkation area used during port stops. This space supports the "Edge Launches," luxurious tenders offering seamless shore transfers. The Destination Gateway features 130 seats, air-conditioning, and large LCD screens displaying port and itinerary information.
"Destination Getaway" serves as the ship’s embarkation platform when the Magic Carpet is positioned on Deck 2.
The repositioning schedule for the Magic Carpet is updated daily.
