Celebrity Constellation (built in 2002, “Solsticized” in 2010, and most recently refurbished in 2020 under the Celebrity Revolution program) is the fourth and final ship in Celebrity Cruises' Millennium-class, alongside the Infinity, Millennium, and Summit. The vessel is also affectionately known as “Connie.”
The Celebrity Constellation deck plan includes 1,065 staterooms accommodating 2,130 guests (maximum capacity 2,556), served by 1,000 crew. The ship has 12 passenger decks (8 with cabins), 8 restaurants and food bars (including 3 specialty venues), 10 lounges/bars, 3 swimming pools (one covered), 6 outdoor whirlpools (Jacuzzis), and 10 elevators.
There are no self-service laundromats onboard. Laundry, dry-cleaning, and pressing services are available for an additional charge (charged per item).
Celebrity Constellation Deckplan Changes – 2020 Refurbishment
The ship’s drydock took place from April 16 to May 25, 2020, at Navantia Shipyard in Cadiz, Spain, as part of the company’s USD 70 million "Celebrity Revolution" program.
Upgrades included the addition of new staterooms, full renovation of all cabins (new furniture, LED lighting, carpets, drapes, linens, artworks), programmable RFID door locks (card and wristband access), Bluetooth connectivity, and upgraded bathrooms. On Deck 12, The Retreat (a suite-only sundeck complex) was added at the front, and the Rooftop Terrace (an outdoor cinema and lounge) at the aft.
The fleetwide Celebrity Revolution program (USD 500 million) included:
- Refurbishment of all staterooms and public areas to align with Edge-class standards, with designs by HBA (Hirsch Bedner Associates) and Kelly Hoppen.
- New eXhale bedding with premium cashmere mattresses and modern tech (RFID locks, Bluetooth, Xcelerate Wi-Fi).
- Addition of The Retreat sundeck featuring a full-size pool, Jacuzzi, private cabanas, padded loungers, and poolside food and drink service.
- Redesign of the Luminae Restaurant (Suites-only) with custom menus by chef Cornelius Gallagher.
- Introduction of the new Qsine Restaurant featuring the “Le Petit Chef” dining experience, created by Skullmapping and presented by TableMation Studios.
- Redesign of Main Dining Rooms, Oceanview Café, Sunset Bar, and other public venues.
Enhancements also included the new SEA Thermal Suite in the Spa and expanded retail options featuring luxury brands like Hublot and Shinola.
In 2021, the vessel returned to Navantia Shipyard for maintenance, including repairs to the propulsion and steering systems. The hull was hydro-blasted and coated with silicone-based fouling-release paint.
Celebrity Constellation Deckplan Changes – 2017 Refurbishment
The May 12–26, 2017 drydock in Cadiz, Spain, resulted in the following updates:
- Deck 12 (aft) gained the new Rooftop Terrace – a relaxation and entertainment area with outdoor furniture, ambient soundscape, and a large movie screen. It also hosts “A Taste of Film” in the evenings.
- On Deck 3 (Plaza), Ocean Liners restaurant was replaced by the Tuscan Grille (steakhouse). A new Future Cruise Sales office and portrait studio (The Studio) were added. The Cinema was redesigned as a Conference Center.
- Deck 5 received a new retail store, and the entire shopping arcade was renovated.
- The Qsine restaurant was added midship on Deck 11.
- The Casino (Deck 4, Promenade) and the adults-only Solarium (Deck 10, Lido) received new furniture and flooring. Renovations also extended to the pool area and Spa Café.
- The Mast Grill on the Lido Deck was replaced by the Top Deck Burger Bar, offering an expanded fast-food menu including the Celebrity Signature Burger and BYOB (Build Your Own Burger) options.
Suite upgrades (Royal and Penthouse) included new plush furniture and modernized bathrooms with marble surfaces, new tiles, improved lighting, and powder room renovations. All staterooms were equipped with RFID door locks for SeaPass card access.
Celebrity Constellation Deckplan Changes – 2013 Refurbishment
Following the April 2013 drydock, the following upgrades were made:
- 66 new staterooms were added: 17 Oceanview, 12 Interior, and 37 AquaClass.
- 107 Balcony cabins were converted to AquaClass Spa cabins.
- Sky Suite balconies were upgraded and refurbished.
- The basketball court on Deck 12 was enhanced.
- Two new bars—Martini Bar and Crush Bar—were added to the Grand Foyer area (midship starboard) on Deck 4 (Promenade).
- Bistro on Five (creperie) was added on Deck 5; it was renamed Sushi on Five in 2016.
- Michael’s Club menu was expanded to include over 60 craft beers.
- A new retail store was introduced.
- The iLounge (Deck 6) replaced the former Online@Celebrity Center and was outfitted with new Apple PCs.
- Lido Deck 10’s sunbathing area received new loungers, and new equipment was added to the fitness center.
Wi-Fi coverage was expanded shipwide. All cabins and public spaces were updated with new carpeting, upholstery, and draperies.
Cruise Ship Internet – "Xcelerate"
Since 2016, Celebrity Constellation has featured “Xcelerate” high-speed satellite Internet, offering fast, stable connectivity throughout the cruise, including both port and sea days. The system supports secure VPN connections and allows HD video streaming.
Xcelerate supports streaming from platforms like YouTube and Netflix, large photo uploads, and video chatting via FaceTime and Skype.
Internet packages can be purchased onboard or during booking. Pricing varies by cruise length: USD 140 for 5–9-day itineraries, and USD 199 for 10-day or longer voyages. Guests booking “Go Big” promotions receive complimentary unlimited Internet access.
