Celebrity Solstice deck plan changes/refurbishments review
Drydock 2026
In 2025, Celebrity Cruises announced a major fleet modernization program, allocating US$250+ million to modernize the SOLSTIC-class vessels. The major refurbishment project starts with Celebrity Solstice in March 2026, to be followed by the sister-ships Equinox, Eclipse, Silhouette, and Reflection.
The refurbishments are planned to introduce new venues and to redesign and renovate existing spaces.
Among the new venues and facilities are the Boulevard Lounge (a cabaret-style entertainment venue), the adjacent Boulevard Bar; the Celebrity Barcade (a sports bar equipped with group games such as billiards and darts), the Trattoria Rossa (an Italian restaurant), and the Fine Cut Steakhouse (featured on the EDGE-class ships).
Outdoor deck spaces' enhancements include the new Sunset Park (a large outdoor recreation area/sundeck offering cocktails, lawn games, open-air concerts, private cabanas, an expanded Sunset Bar).
All passenger staterooms will undergo upgrades. AquaClass cabins will receive spa-inspired amenities, including massaging shower heads, aromatherapy diffusers, in-room yoga mats, a new pillow menu. There are four new cabin categories: Panoramic Infinite Veranda Suite, Deluxe Panoramic Oceanview Suite, Panoramic Ocean View Suite, and Deluxe Panoramic Ocean View.
The Retreat (Celebrity's signature adults-only sundeck) will feature enhanced suites, a new sundeck (with outdoor seating and a hot tub) and a redesigned Retreat Lounge.
Other venues scheduled for extensive refurbishments include Cafe Al Bacio, Cellar Masters, World Class Bar, Martini Bar, Pool Bar, Passport Bar, the exclusive restaurants Blu (AquaClass) and Luminae (The Retreat), the Fitness Center, and Camp at Sea.
Drydock 2016
The ship's 2016 refurbishment (11-day project, October 22 - November 1) resulted in the following changes:
Celebrity Solstice became the first Solstice-class vessel to feature an outdoor movie screen (on deck 15, in the Patio area).
The "Taste of Film" (a multi-sensory video experience) takes place on the Lawn Club (Deck 15). Alcove-style cabanas line the real grass lawn for additional seating.
A new food menu (by sushi chef Yoshikazu "Yoshi" Okada) is available at Sushi on Five (formerly Bistro on Five, on Entertainment Deck 5). The menu includes hand-rolled sushi, fresh tableside grated wasabi, house-made soy sauce, Asian-inspired cocktails, Japanese beers, and sakes.
A new photo gallery includes 25 touchscreen photo kiosks where passengers are able to download purchased photos to their mobile devices.
On deck 5, an art gallery replaced the old photo gallery.
All suites were enhanced with new patio furniture added to their private balconies.
