Viking Vela deck plans

Deck layouts, review of facilities, activities, amenities

Viking Vela deck plan review at CruiseMapper provides newest cruise deck plans (2026-2027-2028 valid floor layouts of the vessel) extracted from the officially issued by Viking Ocean (Viking Cruises) deckplan pdf (printable version).

Each of the Viking Vela cruise ship deck plans are conveniently combined with a legend (showing cabin codes) and detailed review of all the deck's venues and passenger-accessible indoor and outdoor areas. A separate link provides an extensive information on Viking Vela staterooms (cabins and suites), including photos, cabin plans and amenities by room type and category.

MV Viking Vela (2024-built) is the 11th vessel (and the first in the second 6-ship series) of 16 identical ships built for Viking OCEAN Cruises between 2015 and 2028 (fleet). The vessel’s design is a modified and expanded version, specifically developed for Viking’s “small ship travel” all-inclusive concept, combining excursions-inclusive river cruising with an “affordable luxury” ocean cruising product. Vela’s sisterships in this second series include Viking Vesta (2025), Viking Mira (2026), Viking Libra (2026), Viking Astrea (2027), and Viking Lyra (2028).

Viking Vela’s deck plan includes a total of 499 staterooms for up to 998 passengers, served by 470 crew and staff. She features 10 decks (6 with passenger cabins), 2 swimming pools (one infinity pool and one covered pool with a retractable roof), 2 whirlpool hot tubs, and 6 elevators (2 of which are panoramic with glass walls). This is an adults-only ship (minimum age requirement 16) and does not offer dedicated children’s facilities or programs.

All cabin decks feature a launderette (complimentary passenger-use laundry rooms). These self-service facilities are equipped with ironing boards, washers, and dryers, and detergent is provided free of charge.

Like her sisterships, Viking Vela offers an intimate, boutique hotel-style atmosphere with signature Scandinavian décor, luxury fabrics, spacious lounges with elegant leather furnishings, gourmet cuisine, and a curated art collection. As with all Viking OCEAN ships, she operates longer, destination-focused itineraries with fewer sea days, frequent overnight port stays, and a selection of premium excursions (included in each port of call). Unlike most modern cruise ships, Viking OCEAN vessels do not include a casino (gambling lounge or bar).

Viking OCEAN ships are next-generation cruise vessels incorporating some of the industry’s most advanced maritime technologies. These include energy-efficient hybrid propulsion systems (diesel generators combined with gas turbines), optimized hull forms, and bulbous bows for improved fuel efficiency. The design also integrates solar panels (installed on the Magradome pool cover), further reducing emissions and environmental impact.
