Deck layouts, review of facilities, activities, amenities
Viking Orion deck plan review at CruiseMapper provides newest cruise deck plans (2026-2027-2028 valid floor layouts of the vessel) extracted from the officially issued by Viking Ocean (Viking Cruises) deckplan pdf (printable version).
Each of the Viking Orion cruise ship deck plans are conveniently combined with a legend (showing cabin codes) and detailed review of all the deck's venues and passenger-accessible indoor and outdoor areas. A separate link provides an extensive information on Viking Orion staterooms (cabins and suites), including photos, cabin plans and amenities by room type and category.
MV Viking Orion (2018-built) is the 5th vessel in a series of identical cruise ships built for Viking OCEAN between 2015 and 2027 (fleet). Her design was specifically developed for Viking’s “small ship travel” all-inclusive concept, combining the excursions-inclusive river cruising experience with an “affordable luxury” ocean vacation product.
Viking Orion’s deck plan features a total of 464 staterooms for 928 passengers, served by 470 crew and staff. She has 10 decks (6 with passenger cabins), 2 swimming pools (1 infinity pool and 1 covered with a retractable roof), 2 outdoor Jacuzzi hot tubs, and 6 elevators (including 2 panoramic glass lifts). This is an adults-only ship (minimum age requirement 16), with no dedicated children’s facilities or programs.
On all cabin decks, there is a launderette (complimentary self-service laundry room) equipped with ironing boards, washers, and dryers. Detergent is also provided free of charge.
There are two Viking OCEAN ships with an onboard planetarium (Orion and Jupiter), similar to the one on Cunard’s liner RMS Queen Mary 2. Named the “Explorers’ Dome,” Viking Orion’s theater-style venue is circular, with a capacity of 26 seats, and is located forward on Deck 8, adjacent to the Explorers Lounge. It uses advanced projection technology to display constellations and other space-related 3D content on its domed ceiling.
Like her sisterships, Viking Orion offers an intimate, boutique hotel-style atmosphere, featuring signature Scandinavian-inspired decor, luxury fabrics, spacious lounges with elegant leather furnishings, gourmet cuisine, and a curated art collection. Unlike most modern cruise ships, Viking OCEAN vessels do not feature a casino.
Viking OCEAN ships incorporate some of the industry’s most advanced maritime technologies. These include energy-efficient hybrid propulsion systems (diesel generators combined with gas turbines), optimized hull forms, and bulbous bows designed for maximum fuel efficiency. The design also includes solar panels (installed on the Magradome pool cover), further reducing exhaust emissions and environmental impact.
