Deck layouts, review of facilities, activities, amenities
Viking Star deck plan review at CruiseMapper provides newest cruise deck plans (2026-2027-2028 valid floor layouts of the vessel) extracted from the officially issued by Viking Ocean (Viking Cruises) deckplan pdf (printable version).
Each of the Viking Star cruise ship deck plans are conveniently combined with a legend (showing cabin codes) and detailed review of all the deck's venues and passenger-accessible indoor and outdoor areas. A separate link provides an extensive information on Viking Star staterooms (cabins and suites), including photos, cabin plans and amenities by room type and category.
MV Viking Star (built in 2015) is the first of a 10-ship series of identical vessels built for Viking OCEAN between 2015 and 2027 (fleet). The vessel’s design was specifically developed for Viking’s “small ship travel” all-inclusive concept, combining the excursions-focused river cruising experience with an “affordable luxury” ocean cruise product.
Viking Star’s deck plan includes a total of 464 staterooms for up to 928 passengers, served by 470 crew and staff. She has 10 decks (6 with passenger cabins), 2 swimming pools (one infinity pool and one with a retractable roof), 2 outdoor Jacuzzis (whirlpool hot tubs), and 6 elevators (2 of which are panoramic with glass walls). This is an adults-only ship (minimum age requirement 16 years) with no dedicated children’s facilities or programs.
On all decks with cabins, there is a launderette (complimentary passenger-use laundromat). These self-service laundry rooms are equipped with ironing boards, washers, and dryers, with detergent provided free of charge.
Like her sister ships, Viking Star offers an intimate, boutique hotel-style atmosphere, featuring signature Scandinavian decor, luxury fabrics, spacious lounges with elegant leather furnishings, gourmet cuisine, and a curated art collection. Unlike most modern cruise ships, Viking OCEAN vessels do not include a casino (gambling lounge or bar).
Viking OCEAN ships incorporate some of the industry’s most advanced maritime technologies, including energy-efficient hybrid engines (diesel generators and gas turbines), optimized hull design, and bulbous bows for improved fuel efficiency. The design also integrates solar panels (installed on the Magradome pool cover), further reducing exhaust emissions.
