Porto Cruise Terminal/Leixoes experienced an exceptional month in terms of both the number of cruise ships and the number of passengers in May. Additionally, the terminal had the privilege of hosting 3 inaugural calls during the same period.

On May 9th, SeaDream Yacht Club's superyacht SeaDream 2 made her inaugural call at Porto Terminal's North Pier. The 1985-built ship embarked on an 11-day Mediterranean voyage starting from Lisbon Portugal and ending in Barcelona Spain, carrying 104 tourists. Apart from Leixoes, the itinerary included visits to Cadiz, Morocco's Casablanca and Tangier, and Spain's Malaga, Almeria, Alicante, and Valencia.

On May 14th, Porto Terminal's North Pier welcomed Swan Hellenic's ship SH Vega for the first time. Launched the previous year, SH Vega is the second vessel among Swan Hellenic Cruises' 3 newly built ships. With a capacity of only 152 passengers, SH Vega embarked on a 10-night itinerary from Lisbon to Portsmouth UK, making stops at Vigo, Ferrol, Gijon, Bilbao, La Rochelle, Concarneau, Roscoff, and Saint-Malo.

On May 15th, the Porto Cruise Terminal hosted the inaugural call of Viking OCEAN's ship Viking Saturn. Carrying ~900 passengers, Viking Saturn was on a 14-day journey from Barcelona to Reykjavik Iceland. The planned itinerary included visits to Valencia, Malaga, Lisbon, Leixoes, La Coruna, Dublin, and Liverpool. Viking Saturn is the latest addition to the Viking Ocean Cruises fleet, having been launched this year.

As customary on such occasions, Plaque Exchange Ceremonies took place on board with the participation of Port Authorities, Port Agents, and Ship Captains to commemorate these inaugural calls at Porto Cruise Terminal in the Port of Leixoes.
