AIDAluna ship concluded another strong cruise year for the Port of Dover (England), departing earlier this month for Spain ahead of the winter Caribbean deployment.

AIDA Cruises called Dover 6 times during 2024, joining 20 other cruise lines that utilized the port as a destination or turnaround hub.

This season saw notable highlights, including inaugural calls from Viking Saturn, CFC's Renaissance, Seabourn Venture, TUI Mein Schiff 4, Fred Olsen’s Borealis, and Crystal Symphony.

The Port had 2 triple-ship days, showcasing its capability to accommodate high traffic, with the WD4 berth providing seamless pedestrian access to the Marina Curve and the wider waterfront.

HAL-Holland America’s ship ms Nieuw Statendam made a standout visit in April, offering a preview of its full 2025 season when Dover will serve as her UK homeport.

Additionally, Dover’s Regatta saw its first-ever cruise line sponsor - Fred Olsen, marking a new milestone in the port’s engagement with its local community.

Peter Wright, Head of Cruise at the Port of Dover said it had been a brilliant season, which has seen them "welcome a diverse range of cruise ships of all sizes, multiple berths in use, wonderful inaugural call celebrations," and their long-standing customers returning for large sets of calls.

"I’d like to thank our brilliant team here for working so hard to provide our guests with an exceptional welcome and to our cruise lines for choosing Dover. We are excited for what 2025 will bring.”
