HAL-Holland America Line has confirmed plans to increase its Northern Europe deployment in 2027 by assigning a third vessel to the region. The Zuiderdam will join the Nieuw Statendam and Rotterdam, which are currently scheduled to operate from the port of Rotterdam.
The addition of Zuiderdam will bring HAL's Northern European presence to three ships, with the vessel homeporting in Amsterdam and offering select departures from Reykjavik, Iceland.
According to the company, Northern Europe remains one of the most sought-after regions among its clientele. Paul Grigsby, Vice President of Deployment and Itinerary Planning, noted that internal guest feedback has consistently placed destinations such as Norway’s Eidfjord and Bergen, the Icelandic fjord of Eyjafjörður, and ports including Liverpool and Killybegs among HAL’s highest-rated. The expanded schedule is intended to offer increased access to these key destinations.
In the years leading up to 2027, Zuiderdam is operating itineraries in the Caribbean as well as in New England and Eastern Canada. The 2027 deployment will mark a strategic repositioning aimed at capitalizing on rising demand for Northern European cruising.
Further details on itineraries and booking availability are expected to be released through official channels in due course.
