HAL-Holland America Line has expanded its 2027 Northern Europe program by revising five 7-day voyages aboard the ship Rotterdam to include calls at the Norwegian fjord destinations of Flåm and Hellesylt. The additions provide guests with greater access to some of Norway’s most sought-after natural attractions, including the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord and Storfjorden, the latter serving as a gateway to Geirangerfjord. UNESCO has described the Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord regions as among the world’s most outstanding fjord landscapes.

The revised itineraries are now open for booking. Departures on May 30th, June 27th and August 1st, 2027, combine calls at Oslo, Kristiansand, Sandnes and Flåm, together with scenic cruising through the Sognefjord and the Oslofjord. Sailings departing on July 25th and August 8th, 2027, focus on Norway’s fjord region with visits to Eidfjord, Hellesylt, Ålesund and Bergen, alongside scenic navigation through the Hardangerfjord and Storfjorden.

The cruise line indicated that Northern Europe continues to rank among its most popular regions, with fjord cruising remaining one of the experiences most frequently sought by guests. The inclusion of Flåm and Hellesylt is intended to provide broader access to Norway’s landscapes, history and cultural attractions, including opportunities to experience the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord, the renowned Flåm Railway and the waterfall-rich scenery surrounding Storfjorden.

Northern Europe remains a key region within Holland America Line’s deployment strategy and reflects the company’s longstanding connection to the continent. In 2027, the line plans to operate three vessels in the region—Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam and Zuiderdam—offering itineraries to Norway, Iceland, Greenland, the British Isles, Scandinavia and the Baltic. Cruise durations will range from 7 to 21 days, providing a variety of options for travellers seeking to explore Northern Europe’s natural and cultural heritage.
