Operations at Port Mobile are still suspended for commercial inbound and outbound traffic because of adverse maritime conditions that were caused by the storm. The port is due to open sometime on Sunday, July 14.

Carnival Fantasy was scheduled to visit Mobile Alabama Saturday morning but was being kept at sea due to adverse weather conditions. The next voyage will operate as a 4-night cruise, departing on Sunday.

Barry made landfall as a Category 1 hurricane close to Intracoastal City, Louisiana, Saturday afternoon and quickly weakened back to a tropical storm.

A text alert was sent to passengers embarking Carnival Fantasy. Carnival Cruise Line stated that operations at Port Mobile were still suspended and their plan was to operate the cruise as a 4-day trip to Cozumel, departing Sunday, "assuming normal port operations are resumed at Port of Mobile.”

Carnival sent out a text to travelers embarking Carnival Glory in Port NOLA New Orleans on Sunday saying the vessel will be arriving as scheduled. Carnival Valor, the other cruise ship that sails from New Orleans, will also be arriving as scheduled on Monday, July 15.

Earlier this week Valor couldn't return to New Orleans and had to be diverted to Mobile because the port was closed. The company bussed debarking and embarking passengers between Mobile and New Orleans.

Carnival's Fantasy is returning from a 5-night Western Caribbean cruise.
