Maysville KY (Kentucky)

Maysville KY is an Ohio River cruise port and town in Kentucky USA (Mason County) with a population of around 9,000. The town is located approx 105 km (66 mi) northeast of Lexington (Kentucky's 2nd-largest city). Two river bridges connect Maysville with Aberdeen Ohio.

Maysville developed as a major riverport exporting mainly American whiskey (bourbon), hemp, and tobacco. The town was also a major manufacturer of wrought ironwork (used for building decoration in Cincinnati OH and New Orleans Louisiana). In the 20th-century, Maysville had some of the world's largest tobacco warehouses. Current-day town's best-known attractions and landmarks include Simon Kenton Bridge (suspension bridge opened in 1931, over-river length 323 m / 1060 ft, total length 607 m / 1991 ft), Russell Theatre (opened in 1928), downtown floodwall's historical murals. The town is served by 6 major highways and Amtrak trains.
