Mehring is a Rhine River cruise port and town in Germany's Bavaria state (district Altotting-Oberbayern / Upper Bavaria) with total area approx 23 km2 and population around 3,000.
The town is directly connected to B12 Autobahn (Bundesstrasse 12 / highway) located close to Burghausen (Altötting's largest town). Due to its easy road access, in Mehring are based the large industrial companies Wacker-Chemie AG (chemical manufacturer with 23 facilities in Europe, America and Asia), OMV Deutschland GmbH (refinery) and Chemiepark Gendorf (chemical plant fka Hoechst AG).
