Speyer/Speier (port locode DESPE) is a Rhine River cruise port and town in Germany's Rhineland-Palatinate state (Urban district) with population around 50,000. Speyer is approx 25 km (15 mi) south of Mannheim (Baden-Wurttemberg state).

One of Germany's oldest towns, Speyer was founded as a Roman military camp and by 150 AD was first mapped (under the name Noviomagus).

The city's main tourist attractions include Speyer Cathedral (with tombs of Holy Roman emperors and German kings), Altportel (gate), Gedachtniskirche (church), Jewish courtyard (medieval Synagogue), Technikmuseum (transportation), and Historisches Museum der Pfalz (Palatinate history).

The double-track railway Schifferstadt-Worth (aka Speyer line) connects to the Baden-Wurttemberg's port cities Mannheim and Karlsruhe.
