Carnival Encounter cabins with balconies number 719, representing 80% of all 935 outside staterooms. There are 25 wheelchair-accessible cabins (12 with balconies, 4 oceanview, and 9 interior).
Below is a review of Carnival Encounter staterooms, highlighting amenities, furnishings, and included (complimentary) services:
- Suites with step-out balconies (Grand Suites, all grades of Balcony Suites, and Mini-Suites) feature walk-in closets (ample storage space), living rooms (sofabed, desk, vanity table, armchairs), and bathrooms with WC-toilet, shower stall, whirlpool bathtub, and double sinks.
- Family Suites consist of three interconnected rooms, with the living room in the center. Both bedrooms offer ample closet space, a bathroom (shower and bathtub), desk, and drawers. The living room includes a sofabed. Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors open to a large step-out balcony.
Additional suite amenities include deluxe mattresses and pillows, two HDTVs, CD/DVD player, upgraded bathroom products (massage showerheads, luxury toiletries), luxury balcony furniture, and complimentary access to Spa Thermal Suite, Internet Café, laundry/dry cleaning services, and a one-time minibar setup.
All balcony cabins have floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors opening to a private verandah furnished with one round table and two patio chairs. These cabins include large wardrobes, bathrooms (WC and shower), desks, and drawers. Some have extra beds for third/fourth guests. Category BI is designated as Interconnecting (Family Balcony).
Oceanview (outside) cabins feature a picture window (Category OP has porthole windows). Categories OV, OW, and OY have obstructed views. Category OI is Interconnecting (Family Outside). Interior cabins share the same size and amenities as Oceanviews but without windows. Category II is Interconnecting (Family Inside).
All Carnival Encounter staterooms include complimentary amenities such as a living area (mirrored vanity, writing desk, seating), two twin beds (convertible to a Queen-size double), deluxe bedding sets (Egyptian cotton linens), wardrobe, desk with chair, smart HDTV, direct-dial phone, electronic safe, lifejackets (in the closet), hairdryer, bath products (shampoo, body lotion, conditioner), mini-bar/fridge, individual air-conditioning, evening turndown service, and complimentary 24-hour room service.
During the Star Princess ship’s 2017 refurbishment, all staterooms were outfitted with the “Princess Luxury Bed,” developed in collaboration with Dr. Michael Breus (“The Sleep Doctor”) and designer Candice Olson. These new beds feature luxury pillow-top mattresses, individually wrapped coils (to reduce surface sway), and hypoallergenic duvets.
Top-tier Suites and M1-Mini Suites have exclusive access to Byron Beach Club (Deck 16 forward), complimentary in-cabin dining (hors d’oeuvres), and priority embarkation, disembarkation, and tendering. They also have access to a dedicated section of the Main Dining Room (MDR) reserved for Suite guests, offering expedited seating, personalized waiter service, an exclusive menu featuring chef’s specials, and tableside dish preparation. Suite Dining is available daily for breakfast and dinner, and for lunch on sea days only.
Cots are available in select cabins only and are not offered in interior or oceanview quad staterooms. Bedding configurations in triple and quad staterooms may vary. Queen-size bedding may not be available when upper bunks (3rd and 4th beds) are in use.
Wheelchair-accessible cabins feature wider doorways (accommodating wheelchairs), no bathroom thresholds, and handrails throughout the bathroom. Ambulatory Accessible cabins include grab bars and/or fold-down shower seats. These are not considered wheelchair-accessible staterooms.
