Colmar is a Lauch River (Ill River/Rhine River) cruise port and town in northeastern France (Alsace region) with population around 70,000. The town is on the Lauch River (tributary of Ill River - tributary of the Rhine) and also on Route des Vins d'Alsace (wine route, length 170 km/110 mi) crossing north-south Alsace's main wine producing areas with a total of 67 communes.

Colmar is approx 65 km (40 mi) southwest of Strasbourg. Ill River is connected to the Rhine by the artificial Marne-Rhine Canal (length 313 km/194 mi) linking Vitry-le-Francois (Marne department) and Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin department).

The town was founded (as Columbarium Fiscum) in the early-9th century, and in 1226 AD received its city status - granted by the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II (1194-1250). Colmar (fka Kolmar) is best known for its well-preserved Vieille Ville (Old Town), scenic river canals, numerous landmarks/historic buildings, museums (the largest of which are Unterlinden, and Isenheim).

Colmar is a popular hotel barge cruise port and is regularly included in the French canal cruise schedules ot CroisiEurope, one of Europe's largest river cruise companies and a popular travel brand. From Colmar, CroisiEurope organizes land travel excursions to destinations like Vieux-Brisach/Breisach am Rhein, and Kunheim (during the Christmas Market season).

As a cruise port, Colmar was included in the 2019 schedule of the Scylla-owned ships Inspire and Grace. Both riverboats were chartered by Tauck River Cruises (USA). The next tables show Tauck's itineraries as port sequences.
