Havelberg is a Havel River/Elbe River cruise port and town in Germany's Saxony-Anhalt state (Stendal district) with population around 8,000. The town features a unique location being as part of it was built on an island in the middle of the river.

The settlement was founded in the 7th-century by Slavic tribes. The town was officially founded in the mid-10th-century (946 AD) as a bishopric residence. Since 1904, its former Abbey (monastery) houses the Prignitz Museum. Havelberg is in northeastern Saxony-Anhalt and positioned shortly before Havel River's confluence with Elbe River (to the west).

The town is best-known with the annual Havelberger Pferdemarkt (horse market held here on September's first weekend). The market is ranked Europe's largest (attracting between 100,000 and 200,000 tourists) and is combined with an open-air marketplace and a flea market. Popular landmarks include Havelberger Dom (cathedral above downtown), Prignitz-Museum (themed on town's and region's history), St Laurentius Kirche (14th-century church), Judischer Friedhof (Jewish cemetery), Hospitalkapelle zum Heiligen Geist (14th-century)Hospital Chapel), former Synagogenhaus (Synagogue House), Beguinenhaus (13th-century house for religious vows).

As cruise port, Havelberg is included in the schedules of some of Europe's largest river cruise companies - like Nicko Cruises (ship Frederic Chopin) and Phoenix Reisen (ship Saxonia). Next tables show some of the Havelberg-visiting cruisetour itineraries as ports sequences and prices per person (double occupancy rates).
