Saint Jean de Losne is a Saone River cruise port and town in eastern France, with population around 1,200. The town is located approx 25 km (16 mi) southeast of Dijon.
Saint Jean de Losne is located at Burgundy Canal's southern extremity. This is one of the biggest boat hire and hotel barge bases on the river. Well developed are the ship repair industry with highly skilled marine engine and propulsion system mechanics and welders. The town has 2 great restaurants (Auberge de la Marine, and Auberge du Paradis) and a patisserie (Boulanger).
The canal area above river lock 76 is where are the barge dry docks ((building, rebuilding / boat conversion and repairing). Here also barges hibernate during winter months. As river port, Saint Jean de Losne offers 350 rings and professional services related to barge sells, repairs, processing, rentals, rigging.
