Solt (Scholt) is a Danube River cruise port and town in Hungary's Kalocsa district (Bacs-Kiskun county) with a population of around 6,000. The region is crossed by two highways - 51 (190-km long, running along the river and connecting to Budapest / country's capital) and 52 (64-km long, connecting to Transdanubia).
The local scenery is marked by farmland (stretching eastward) with irrigation channels, several beach dunes, a forested hill, and vineyards (to the northwest). The town is named after the Hungarian Prince Zolta / Zoltan (896-949 AD). Among the best-known tourist attractions are Vecsey Castle (early-19th-century), Roman Catholic Church (late-19th-century), Reformed Church (late-18th-century), Pincemuzeum (Cellar Museum / wine-themed, opened in 1980), Meleg-Hegyi (cellar village with a population of around 700), St Laszlo Square (with an open-air theme park), Revber Horse Center, Radioado (304-m high antenna tower/radio station), Teleki Shandor Castle.
As a cruise port, Solt was added in the nickoVISION ship's 2019 schedule from homeport Passau. The next table shows the 14-day itinerary's ports and port times (arrival/departure). Prices started from USD 1240 pp (double occupancy rates). The new riverboat was inaugurated in 2018.
