Victoria Island is part of an archipelago in Arctic Canada, located between the Canadian federal territories Nunavut and NWT (Northwest Territories). By land area (217291 km2 / 83897 mi2), the island is ranked world's 8th and Canada's 2nd largest. The list of "Canada top 10" largest islands (world rank in brackets) includes: Baffin Island (5), Victoria Island (8), Ellesmere Island (10), Newfoundland (16), Banks Island (24), Devon Island (27), Axel Heiberg Island (32), Melville Island (33), Southampton Island (34) and Prince of Wales Island (40). All of them (excepting Newfoundland - in Newfoundland-Labrador) are located in Nunavut-NWT.
Victoria Island is one Canada's Arctic territories along the Northwest Passage route. The island was included as port of call in the Northwest Passage itineraries of the following ships:

Note: All Northwest Passage ship transits are assisted by a Canadian icebreaker or other support vessel with an ice-strengthened hull.

Most cruise ships to Victoria Island Canada dock (anchor) at Cambridge Bay - port town on the southern coast. Smaller ships may also stop at Ulukhaktok - port town on the western coast.
