Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines will be sailing from Portsmouth (England UK) this December, offering festive cruises and an exploration of the Antarctic and South America.

Leaving on December 10th, Fred. Olsen's Balmoral will set sail from Portsmouth UK on a festive cruise to Spain and Portugal where passengers will be able to admire Vigo's festive light displays and meander the Christmas markets of Funchal in Madeira.

Other voyages from the port include an opportunity to enjoy a festive break with Christmas celebrations in the Canary Islands, offering Christmas at sea with ms Balmoral in festive decorations.

In early 2023, the ship will depart on a 78-night exploration of the Antarctic and South America. On this journey, there will be an opportunity to enjoy a circumnavigation of the continent, where passengers can enjoy the wildlife-rich Galapagos Islands, the scenic Patagonian Fjords in Chile, the blue waters of the Bahamas, or, for the first time in the history of the company, the Antarctic.

Portsmouth is among Fred. Olsen’s regional departure ports, alongside Dover, Liverpool, Newcastle, Southampton, and Rosyth (Edinburgh).

Clare Ward, Director of Product & Customer Service at Fred. Olsen said they had almost 200 years of seafaring history, and so to welcome guests aboard from Portsmouth, a city with rich maritime heritage, was particularly exciting.

“These sailings have been hand-crafted by our team of dedicated Journey Planners, to offer our guests something special at the time of year they are visiting. Plus, the smaller size of Balmoral means everyone can be sure of a warm and friendly atmosphere aboard all of her sailings, whether it’s for a warmer festive break, or that once-in-a-lifetime voyage to South America and Antarctica.”
