Nieuw Statendam and Zaandam offer a series of 6- through 8-day "Canada and New England Discovery" itineraries. MS Nieuw Statendam offers up to 24 day itineraries visiting Newfoundland, Greenland, and Iceland.
In August 2022, ms Nieuw Statendam is scheduled to debut as the first Pinnacle Class cruise ship to sail to Canada, New England, and beyond. The new 24-day journey departing on August 3 on ms Nieuw Statendam sails roundtrip from Boston MA and circumnavigates Iceland, making 6 calls around the country, with additional calls at Greenland, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland. Ports of call include Bar Harbor ME, Halifax and Sydney; Havre-Saint-Pierre, Saint John's, Red Bay, Saint Anthony, and Corner Brook; Qaqortoq (Julianehab) and Nanortalik (Ilivileq); Reykjavík (evening stay), Djupivogur, Seydisfjorur, Akureyri, Isafjorour and Grundarfjorour.
MS Zaandam will sail between Boston and Montreal in both the summer and fall on 7-day "Canada & New England Discovery" voyages with convenient weekend departures. Ports of call include Bar Harbor, and the Canadian destinations of Quebec City, Charlottetown, Sydney NS, Halifax.
MS Nieuw Statendam will sail 6- through 8-day "Canada & New England Discovery" itineraries between Boston and Quebec, with weekend departures. Ports of call include Bar Harbor, Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax. The 8-day voyage adds St John New Brunswick.
MS Nieuw Statendam sails on longer "Newfoundland & New England Discovery" voyages between Boston and Quebec. Ports on the 10-day itinerary include Baie-Comeau, Havre-Saint-Pierre, Corner Brook, St. Anthony, St. John's, Halifax, Bar Harbor. The 11-day departure visits Portland ME, Saguenay, Saint John, Halifax, Corner Brook (evening stay), Charlottetown, Baie-Comeau.
Both cruise ships will sail the region in the fall so more passengers can view the display of the changing foliage. HAL itineraries feature scenic cruising through the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and Saguenay Fjord.
Holland America, with its perfect-sized ships, is one of the only major lines able to sail the scenic Saint Lawrence River, with visits to Montreal and Quebec on nearly every itinerary.
MS Zaandam offers 9-day repositioning sailings along the Atlantic Coast between Montreal and Fort Lauderdale FL in May and October, while ms Nieuw Statendam sails from Quebec City to Florida in October on a 14-day journey.
