Batsfjord is a municipality located in Finnmark county, Norway. Municipality's administrative centre is Batsfjord village. Batsfjord Airport is a new and modern airport, situated outside Batsfjord village. Hurtigruten coastal express ferry has regularly-scheduled visits to Batsfjord. Historically, there were other villages in the municipality, consequently abandoned over the years. These villages include Makkaur, Hamningberg, Hamna, Nordfjord and Sandfjord.
The Church of Norway features one parish within Batsfjord municipality. It is part of Varanger deanery in Diocese of Nord-Halogaland. Batsfjord Church is the main church. There are two small chapels, as well, but they are used for special occasions since their location in uninhabited areas only used for summer cottages.

Batsfjord is one of the ferry ports along the "Express Route" - Norway's Government subsidized "Norwegian Coastal Express". This is a regularly scheduled passenger and cargo shipping service in Norway. The "ferry and cruise" itinerary is between two turnaround ports - Bergen (southmost) and Kirkenes (northmost). It connects a total of 34 ports, which are Norwegian communities without any road or air access.
Since January 2021, Norway's coastal ferry service is operated by two companies - Hurtigruten (7 ships) and Havila Shipping (4 ships)..Norwegian Government's annual subsidy for the ferry service is around USD 100 million.
