Diamond Princess cabins review
Diamond Princess offers 750 cabins with balconies, representing 75% of the ship's 960 outside staterooms. There are 27 wheelchair-accessible cabins available across balcony, oceanview, and inside categories.
Below is a review of Diamond Princess staterooms in terms of amenities, furniture, and complimentary services:
Diamond Princess Suites with private balconies—including Grand Suites, all Balcony Suite grades, and Mini-Suites—feature a walk-in closet (ample storage), living area with sofabed and desk, vanity, table, armchairs, and a bathroom with WC, shower stall, whirlpool bathtub, and double sinks.
Family Suites consist of three connected rooms, with the living room positioned in the center. Each bedroom includes ample closet space, a bathroom with shower and bathtub, a desk, and a drawer. The living room features a sofabed and floor-to-ceiling sliding doors leading to a large balcony.
Bonus amenities in all Suites include deluxe mattress and pillows, two smart HDTVs, CD/DVD player, upgraded bathroom features (massage showerheads, luxury bath products), luxury balcony furniture, and complimentary services such as access to the Spa Thermal Suite, Internet Café, laundry/dry cleaning, and a one-time stocked minibar.
All balcony cabins feature floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors opening onto a private verandah furnished with a round table and patio chairs. These cabins offer ample closet space, a bathroom with shower, desk, and drawer. Some also have additional bedding for a third or fourth guest.
Oceanview cabins come with a picture window. Category OE has a porthole window, while Category OV features partially obstructed views.
Inside cabins are similar in size and amenities to oceanview rooms but do not include a window.
All Diamond Princess staterooms offer a living area (vanity, desk, seating), two twin beds convertible to a queen, deluxe bedding (Egyptian cotton linens), closet, desk, smart HDTV with infotainment system (Internet and on-demand movies), direct-dial phone, electronic safe, lifejackets (stored in the closet), hairdryer, bath products (shampoo, body lotion, conditioner), mini-bar/fridge, individual air-conditioning, evening turndown service, and complimentary 24-hour room service.
During the 2018 drydock refurbishment, all staterooms were upgraded with Princess Cruises' signature “Princess Luxury Bed,” developed in collaboration with Dr. Michael Breus (“The Sleep Doctor”) and designer Candice Olson. These new beds feature luxury pillow-top mattresses, individually wrapped coils (to reduce surface sway), and hypoallergenic duvets.
“Club Class Mini-Suite” is a premium stateroom category introduced fleetwide in 2017. These VIP-grade mini-suites include exclusive benefits such as Club Class Dining, access to the Elite Lounge, complimentary in-cabin dining (hors d’oeuvres), and priority embarkation, disembarkation, and tendering. Club Class Dining provides a dedicated area within the Main Dining Room reserved for Club Suite guests, featuring expedited seating, exclusive menu items (including chef’s specials), dedicated waiter service, and tableside dish preparation. This dining option is available for breakfast and dinner daily, and for lunch on sea days. These cabins have the same size and layout as standard Mini-Suites, but with added services and perks.
