Diamond Princess deck plan review at CruiseMapper provides newest cruise deck plans (2025-2026-2027 valid floor layouts of the vessel) extracted from the officially issued by Princess Cruises deckplan pdf (printable version).
Each of the Diamond Princess cruise ship deck plans are conveniently combined with a legend (showing cabin codes) and detailed review of all the deck's venues and passenger-accessible indoor and outdoor areas. A separate link provides an extensive information on Diamond Princess staterooms (cabins and suites), including photos, cabin plans and amenities by room type and category.
Diamond Princess (built in 2004, last refurbished in March 2020) is the fourth of nine GRAND-class Princess Cruises ships, and a sistership to the Sapphire Princess.
The Diamond Princess deck plan includes a total of 1,353 cabins for 2,706 passengers (lower berths), with a maximum capacity of 3,247 guests, and is served by 1,100 crew members. The ship has 16 decks (13 accessible to passengers, 8 with cabins), featuring 9 restaurants and bars, 6 lounges, 4 swimming pools, 8 outdoor Jacuzzis, and 14 elevators.
Passenger-use launderettes (self-service laundromats) are available on decks 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. These facilities include ironing boards and detergent.
In August 2018, all staterooms were upgraded with Princess Luxury Beds—developed in collaboration with Dr. Michael Breus ("The Sleep Doctor") and Canadian designer Candice Olson—incorporating the latest in sleep science technology.
Diamond Princess 2019 Refurbishment Review
The ship's last major drydock took place in Singapore over a 14-day period (January 19 – February 2, 2019) as part of Princess Cruises’ USD 450 million “Come Back New Promise” fleet-wide renovation program.
Key upgrades included:
- “Movies Under the Stars” outdoor theater enhanced with a 7.1 surround sound system
- Pool deck upgraded with new dynamic LED lighting
- Princess Casino received new carpeting, flat-screen TVs, and light fixtures
- Lotus Spa and Fitness Center updated with new treatment rooms, beauty salon enhancements, and the latest Precor fitness equipment
- Explorers Lounge, Club Fusion, and Princess Theatre outfitted with new digital audio systems
- New furnishings added to the Horizon Court buffet area
- Japanese-style bidet toilets installed in all public restrooms and Suites’ WCs
Following the Coronavirus outbreak in February–March 2020, Diamond Princess underwent a Level-3 deep cleaning and sanitization operation by Belfor USA (a disaster recovery and restoration company founded in 1946). The comprehensive cleaning process was supervised by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. After successful disinfection, the ship was certified and cleared to depart the country. While docked in Japan, Diamond Princess also entered wetdock at a local shipyard, where interior refurbishments were carried out—this included replacing all mattresses, pillows, linens, draperies, and curtains, along with scheduled routine maintenance.
