Royal Princess deck plans

Royal Princess (built in 2013, last refurbished in 2018, with the next refurbishment scheduled for October 2026) is one of the largest Princess cruise ships and the fleet’s first Royal-class liner. Her sisterships and fleetmates include Regal Princess (2014), Majestic Princess (2017), Sky Princess (2019), Enchanted Princess (2021), and Discovery Princess (2022), as well as the P&O UK liner Britannia (2015).

Royal Princess’ deck plan features a total of 1,780 cabins for 3,560 passengers (lower berths), with a maximum capacity of 4,272 guests, served by 1,346 crew members. The ship has 18 decks (15 passenger-accessible, 8 with cabins), 14 bars and lounges, 2 swimming pools, 8 outdoor Jacuzzis, and 16 elevators.

Passenger-use launderettes (self-service laundromats) are located on cabin decks 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15. These facilities are equipped with ironing boards, and detergent is provided.

Royal-class ships feature the fleet’s largest Atrium area (with expanded entertainment and casual dining venues such as Gelato and Ocean Terrace), the fleet’s largest top-deck pool area (hosting the nightly “Water and Light Show,” including the computerized “Watercolor Fantasy” fountain with 85 water jets), the fleet’s largest and most advanced outdoor cinema (“Movies Under the Stars,” approximately one-third larger than on other ships), and a Concierge Lounge (exclusive to Suite passengers, located on Deck 14).

Royal Princess is equipped with the advanced SISCO A-PASS 6 mobile system, which manages passenger and crew safety functions, facilitates faster embarkation and disembarkation, and provides ship management with real-time information to track everyone on board. Passengers can also share their cruise experience using the complimentary “Princess@Sea Messenger,” a free mobile application integrated into the “Princess@Sea” app (accessible via tablet or smartphone).

Royal Princess deck plan changes – 2018 refurbishment review

The ship’s drydock in 2018 (December 1–8, in Freeport Bahamas) resulted in the following upgrades:

• All passenger cabins received new bedding, and all beds were replaced with the custom-made Princess Luxury Bed. The new “Princess cruise bed” was developed in collaboration with Dr. Michael Breus (known as “The Sleep Doctor”) and designer Candice Olson. The beds feature a luxury pillow-top mattress, individually wrapped coils (to reduce motion transfer), and hypoallergenic duvets.
• The Lotus Spa and Fitness wellness complex was fully refurbished.
• Two new production shows were introduced at the Princess Theater: “The Secret Silk” (created in partnership with Stephen Schwartz) and “Encore” (the company’s top-rated show, accompanied by a live orchestra).
