The Emerald Princess deck plan includes 1533 cabins for 3066 passengers (maximum capacity 3679, lower berths), served by 1200 crew. The ship has 18 decks (15 accessible to passengers, 8 with cabins), 12 restaurants and bars, 8 lounges, 4 swimming pools, 7 outdoor Jacuzzis, and 14 elevators.
Passenger-use launderettes (self-service laundromats) are located on Decks 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 14. These facilities provide washers, dryers, ironing boards, and detergent.
Emerald Princess deck plan changes – 2016 refurbishment review
The ship’s drydock between November 30 and December 13, 2015, was originally planned for general maintenance, with no major deck plan changes announced. However, during this drydocking, an extensive refurbishment was carried out in preparation for the ship’s spring-summer 2016 UK season.
The deck plan changes and upgrades following the 2016 refurbishment included:
- Two new premium dining venues were introduced. “Share,” a family-style restaurant by Australian celebrity chef Curtis Stone, was added, featuring charcuterie and homemade pasta. “The Salty Dog Gastropub,” created by chef Ernesto Uchimura, was launched in the Wheelhouse Bar (Promenade Deck 7), offering a classic pub menu with craft beers and small-plate favorites.
- On Deck 16, “Share” replaced “Sabatini’s” (the Italian restaurant also featured on Coral, Ruby, and Sun Princess). “Salty Dog Gastropub” debuted on Crown Princess in October 2015 and was later added to Ruby Princess as well.
- Cabin upgrades included the introduction of Princess’ new luxury mattress.
- The Fitness Center was upgraded with new sports equipment and free weights.
- 100 staterooms were converted into family cabins by adding interconnecting doors.
