Review of Utopia Of The Seas deck 11 (Cabins)

Unlike the sisterships, Utopia OTS doesn't have Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine. The restaurant (popular for its extravagant gourmet dishes) was replaced by Giovanni's Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar (aft on decks 11-12). On deck 11 is the restaurant, while on deck 12 is the wine bar. Utopia's Giovanni restaurant also features an exterior terrace overlooking the ship's interior (Boardwalk Neighborhood).

Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen (menu) is a specialty restaurant (RCI's first on 2 floors/lower level 1 of 2, capacity 96 seats) with a separate Giovanni’s Wine Bar (redesigned Vintages Wine Bar). This is a trattoria-type restaurant (at surcharge per person/reservations are recommended) open for Lunch (12-1:30 pm) and Dinner (6-9:30 pm). The decor is marked by simple furniture and large HDTVs on the walls (also showing how chef Giovanni Filippone cooks his food). Waiters are dressed in white shirts and jeans.

Giovanni’s menu lists traditional Italian cuisine dishes - spaghetti, pizzas, antipasti, lasagna, bruschetta, eggplant parmigiana, garlic bread. Hand-made pasta is prepared here each day. The menu also has 2 wooden “antipasti planks” – with either cured meats and cheeses or seasonal chargrilled vegetables. There are also seafood dishes, gourmet burgers and desserts. On request, guests can enjoy the old-fashion “View Finder” (usually given to kids dining here) to see their food in 3D pics.

deck plan 11 cabins information: All forward-facing (fore-location) oceanview staterooms feature a large slanted window overlooking the ship’s bow. Most of the aft balconies offer views of the Aquatheater. Boardwalk View balcony cabins are located above the Boardwalk Neighborhood, so noise could be an issue. Central Park View cabins overlook the ship’s interior. Be advised that all the Boardwalk-Central Park cabins have “interior balconies”, which are not private (can be viewed from verandas located on the opposite side). Category “C2-Central Park Balcony” rooms with larger (double width) verandas are numbers 11229 and 11629 (both located aft of the Living Wall).

A total of 24 elevators (12x forward + 12x aft) provide access all the way to deck 16, while decks 17 and 18 are accessed by 6 lifts.
