Princess Cruises celebrating 40th anniversary sailing the Mediterranean

Princess Cruises is commemorating its 40th anniversary of sailing in the Mediterranean by featuring two of its largest and newest ships in the region in 2025 - Sun Princess (2024-built) and Star Princess (2025-built).

Tourists can choose from 6 Princess Cruises ships in the Mediterranean the newest (Sun and Star), along with the liners Majestic, Sky, Regal, and Emerald.

For the 2025 cruises and cruisetours season, voyages aboard the ships departing from Southampton UK (London), including Sky Princess, Regal Princess, and Emerald Princess, will go on sale on May 25th.

Mediterranean-based ships, including the new Star Princess, Sun Princess, and Majestic Princess, will go on sale on June 1st.

In celebration of Princess Cruises' 40th anniversary in the Mediterranean, Star Princess joins the sistership Sun Princess for an inaugural season in Europe. Starting from August 4th, 2025 (maiden voyage), Star Princess will embark on a 9-day "Grand Mediterranean" inaugural cruise (roundtrip from Civitavecchia-Rome Italy) visiting ports in Italy and Greece. Subsequently, a variety of 10-day roundtrip itineraries from Rome visit popular destinations like Livorno-Florence, Barcelona, and Mykonos.

Sun Princess, on the other hand, will offer a series of 7-day Mediterranean voyages departing from Barcelona, Civitavecchia-Rome, or Piraeus-Athens, with stops at coveted destinations including Istanbul, Naples, and Santorini.

Both Sun Princess and Star Princess showcase next-generation features. With max passenger capacity 5189 (4320 lower berths), each liner provides 1500+ balconies and house 29 restaurants and bars/lounges spread across 20 decks. Their innovative design incorporates a glass sphere that fills the Piazza with natural light and offers guests dynamic views of the surrounding world.
