Review of Legend Of The Seas deck 6 (Royal Promenade2-Kids-Teens)

Royal Promenade Neighborhood is on two levels (deck 5/lower and deck 6/upper) and houses staterooms plus 16 F&B venues (bars, lounges, cafes, restaurants) including Royal Railway Restaurant, Giovanni's Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, Pearl Cafe (grab-and-go, open 24-hours, similar to Cafe Promenade, offers complimentary food/sandwiches, packaged salads, beverages/coffee, tea, sodas), Campfire Cookie (patisserie), Sorrento's Pizzeria (pizza by the slice, fresh-baked specialty pies/different each day, also selling draft beers on tap), Thorn & Thistle (English pub with live acoustic guitar performances in the evenings/104 seats), Boleros (Latin-themed bar lounge with live music performances/85 seats), 1400 Bar (lobby bar/capacity 67 indoor + 18 outdoor seats/live piano music in the evenings), Spotlight Karaoke Bar (106 seats), The Attic (comedy club lounge/159 seats), Dueling Pianos Bar (with 2x Baby Grand pianos), Starbucks (coffee shop), Crown Lounge (exclusive bar lounge for Diamond and above members).

The Royal Railway dining venue is designed to evoke the historical Silk Routes. The multi-course dinner represents a succession of geographic stops associated with historic overland trade, with each course loosely tied to regions such as China, Turkey, India, Persia, and Italy.

  • This is a "train dining" experience (simulating a Dining Car on a train) introduced on Utopia OTS as "Royal Railway - Utopia Station". The Royal Railway restaurant and its surrounding areas are themed on train travel, with a train facade (of the restaurant) and even the grand staircase (providing a train station feel). The 48-seat venue itself is designed as a classic passenger railcar and has two "coaches"/"carriages", each seating 24 people.
  • Based on the dinner reservation, there are different trains for boarding. After booking the restaurant, passengers receive a classic-looking (paper) train ticket in their staterooms, which they must bring to the venue (to confirm the reservation) and can keep as a souvenir after the voyage.
  • The wait staff wears special uniforms and the "departures" are listed and updated on a Split Flap Display. Large LED screens project UHD digital media. The multi-sensory dining experience also features the smell of the ordered food.
  • The "dining coach" visits actual destinations (well recognized by their scenery) as well as places from the past (that no longer exist) and fictional places.

On Royal Promenade are also two (out of four) levels of The Pearl (levels 1 and 2/decks 5-6) and Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade (107 seats).

Fitness Center (ShipShape Center/upper level 2 of 2) is open between 6 am - 1 am. It consists of Gymnasium (complimentary, with Life Fitness equipment for cardio/resistance training), an Aerobics Studio (for classes), and private training rooms. The Gym has modern bodybuilding and training exercise equipment (free weights, weight machines, treadmills, steppers, ellipticals, stationary bikes, Kinesis wall). In the mornings/afternoons are scheduled health seminars and wellness presentations (free of charge/timeshare events). Some of the fitness classes cost extra (Yoga, Pilates, Ryde, TRX Suspension, Trilogy, InBody Metabolism Analysis). Complimentary are stretching (morning and evening), Fab Abs, Aerobics, footprint-posture analysis. Fitness rules require children under 18 to be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Kids 16 and under are not allowed. Proper exercise attire is required (including covered-toe athletic shoes). Swimsuits are not allowed.

The Pearl (level 2 of 4) is a unique kinetic art sculpture providing multi-sensory experiences and housing special "sound and sight" events. It has height 14 m (45 ft), diameter 16 m (52 ft), and is constructed from ~3000 computer-driven kinetic tiles. At this unique facility can be emulated natural occurrences like rolling waves, gentle breezes, shooting stars, and the dynamic ocean surface. The tiles' arrangement follows a Fibonacci sequence, mirroring patterns observed in marine life. The Pearl's movements are interactive and influenced by real-time data (tidal and wind) from the sea, allowing it to continually transform, mirroring the current environmental conditions.

An indoor staircase (positioned midship-aft) directly connects three neighborhoods - Royal Promenade (decks 5-6), Surfside (deck 7) and Central Park (deck 8).

Besides the 22x lifts (elevators positioned in the forward and aft atriums) and all staircases, an escalator interconnects decks 2-4-5.
