The first repatriation flight for the Indian crew of Cunard and P&O UK from Southampton was successfully completed on Thursday, June 4. Nearly 280 crew disembarked Ventura and took the flight to Mumbai.
Cunard and P&O UK will arrange 8 more charter flights to bring all the Indian crew back to their homes, not just back to India.
After disembarking the Indian crew, Ventura left from Southampton en-route to Weymouth Bay (near Isle of Portland Port, Dorset England) to meet Azura where 20 Indian crew will be transferred via a tender boat. The 20 crew are registered on the manifest for the next flight of P&O on June 7. The flight will be made up of Indians mainly from Azura and Britannia plus 20 crew from Ventura.
Over the weekend, Ventura remains in Weymouth Bay then sails back to Southampton early Monday morning, June 8. The next scheduled flight is to Goa - for ~280 crew.
The crew has been reminded to wear masks and follow social distancing as the repatriation depends on the crew following the rules during the disembarkation and transfers.
A travelling partner through the repatriation process is Qatar Airways.
