Stokmarknes is a small port town in Hadsel municipality (Norway's Nordland county) with population around 3,500. It is situated on the northern coast of Hadseloya island (Vesteralen Islands). The town is an administrative center of the municipality of Hadsel. Stokmarknes received "town status" in 2000.

In Stokmarknes are also the Hurtigruten company's headquarters and the famous Norwegian Coastal Express Museum. Nordland Hospital is also here, serving the whole Vesteralen region. Around 5 km (3 mi) to the east of the town is located the historic Hadsel Church.

The Hadsel Bridge and Boroy Bridge connect Stokmarknes to Langoya island to the north. Stokmarknes Airport, Skagen is situated on Langoya, just over the bridges from Stokmarknes.

Stokmarknes is one of the ferry ports along the "Express Route" - Norway's Government subsidized "Norwegian Coastal Express". This is a regularly scheduled passenger and cargo shipping service in Norway. The "ferry and cruise" itinerary is between two turnaround ports - Bergen (southmost) and Kirkenes (northmost). It connects a total of 34 ports, which are Norwegian communities without any road or air access.

Since January 2021, Norway's coastal ferry service is operated by two companies - Hurtigruten (7 ships) and Havila Shipping (4 ships). The Norwegian Government's annual subsidy for the ferry service is around USD 100 million.
