Carnival Spirit deck plans

Deck layouts, review of facilities, activities, amenities

Carnival Spirit deck plan review at CruiseMapper provides newest cruise deck plans (2025-2026-2027 valid floor layouts of the vessel) extracted from the officially issued by Carnival Cruise Line deckplan pdf (printable version).

Each of the Carnival Spirit cruise ship deck plans are conveniently combined with a legend (showing cabin codes) and detailed review of all the deck's venues and passenger-accessible indoor and outdoor areas. A separate link provides an extensive information on Carnival Spirit staterooms (cabins and suites), including photos, cabin plans and amenities by room type and category.

Carnival Spirit (2001-built, last refurbished in February 2025) is the first of four Spirit-class Carnival cruise ships, alongside Legend, Miracle, and Pride, as well as Costa's Atlantica and Mediterranea.

The Carnival Spirit cruise ship deck plan includes a total of 1,062 staterooms for 2,124 passengers (maximum capacity 2,680), served by 930 crew members. The ship has 12 passenger decks (6 with cabins), 16 lounges and bars, 4 swimming pools (one with a retractable glass roof), 4 outdoor Jacuzzis (large whirlpool hot tubs), and 15 elevators.

Passenger cabin decks on Carnival Spirit feature 50 Suites, 632 Balconies, 167 Oceanviews, 213 Inside cabins, and self-service laundromats (launderettes). Laundry facilities are available at extra charge—$3.25 per washer or dryer load, and $1.50 per box of detergent or water softener, dispensed from vending machines. Launderettes (open 6:30 am to midnight) are located on all cabin decks and equipped with 2-3 washers, 2-3 dryers, and one ironing board with iron. All machines are coinless and operated using Sail & Sign cards. While the ship is in port, washing machines are unavailable (only dryers and irons can be used). Valet laundry service is available through the cabin steward. Wash-and-press prices range from $2 to $7.50 per item; dry cleaning is not available.

(Deck 4) The Techno Video Arcade (forward-portside) was replaced with The Cove, a children-only breakout room for arts and crafts.

(Deck 9) The Asian Corner (Mongolian Wok station offering complimentary made-to-order stir-fry) was replaced with the Seafood Corner.

(Deck 10) The Fat Jimmy's C-Side BBQ was removed.

Carnival Spirit Deck Plan Changes – 2018 Refurbishment

During the May-June 2018 drydock in Singapore, the following upgrades were completed:

  • New entertainment areas were added: SoulPlay (kids-only arts and crafts) and Warehouse Arcade (teens-only)
  • Retail area redesign introduced new duty-free brands including Clinique, Lacoste, Quay Australia, Seafolly, Swarovski, and Swatch
  • Pixels Digital Photo Gallery replaced the traditional photo gallery, allowing passengers to view and purchase photos via smartphones and iPads
  • Fitness Center was upgraded with the latest training equipment

In February 2022, Carnival Spirit underwent a drydock in Dubai, UAE, primarily for general maintenance and to update her exterior livery with Carnival's new blue-red-white color scheme.

In 2017, Carnival Spirit (then homeported in Australia) introduced new kids' programming, including themed activities, games, and parties:

  • New onboard features included an inflatable bocce court and giant board games such as Cranium, Trivial Pursuit, and Guess Who
  • Cluedo (aka Clue) murder mystery game was added—a group activity for 2–6 players. At the start of the cruise, costumed characters present their alibis, and players solve the mystery using clues provided throughout the voyage
  • New themed entertainment events introduced included: “80s Rock” (music-themed show), “Glow Night” (fashion-themed event), and “Lip Sync Battle” (musical competition with choreography, costumes, and staging)

"Carnival Hub" App

In 2016, Carnival Australia launched the "Carnival Hub" app onboard Carnival Spirit. It provides access to the ship’s daily activity schedule (from the "Fun Times" newsletter) and includes the following functions:

  • "Favorites" — bookmark preferred events such as shows and promotions
  • Real-time onboard account balance tracking
  • Event reminders
  • Reservations and bookings for spa treatments, specialty dining, lounges, etc.
  • Current itinerary info, including ports of call and searchable deck plans with highlighted attractions
  • The app (AUD 9) includes a “chat” feature for staying in contact with friends and family onboard. All passengers traveling together are automatically added to the contact list, and new contacts can be added via unique ID numbers
  • Guests can download the app in advance (for free), set up a profile, enter their cruise departure date, and access a countdown feature. It’s also available for free download onboard
  • The printed "Fun Times" newsletter remains available but in a reduced format, contributing to approximately 50% less paper usage fleetwide

Cruise Ship Internet

In May 2016, Carnival Australia introduced improved, faster, and more affordable Internet and social media packages on Australia-based ships Carnival Legend and Carnival Spirit. The updated offerings include:

  • Value Package – AUD 30/day for unlimited Internet access
  • Premium Package – AUD 50/day for faster speed and access to services like Skype video calls
  • Social Media Package – AUD 15/day for unlimited access to Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter
