Oceania schedules 5 Solar Eclipse Cruises for August 2026

Oceania Cruises has unveiled an expanded suite of itineraries for August 2026, strategically aligning 5 voyages with the path of the total solar eclipse on August 12th.

These sailings will traverse regions including Ireland, Iceland, Portugal, and the United Kingdom, offering guests optimal vantage points for observing the celestial event.

Oceania Marina ship – 14-day Voyage in the Path of Totality. Departing Copenhagen (Denmark) on July 30, 2026, the Oceania Marina will navigate towards Reykjavik (Iceland). The itinerary includes ports such as Invergordon, Scrabster, and Akureyri. The eclipse is anticipated to be observed while departing Grundarfjordur (Iceland). Onboard, astronomer Dennis Mammana will provide insights into the phenomenon.

Oceania Insignia ship – 12-day voyage with 97% eclipse coverage. Setting sail from Reykjavik on August 3, 2026, the Oceania Insignia will conclude in Southampton UK. Ports of call include Killybegs, Dingle, and Cork. The eclipse viewing is scheduled near Glengarriff (Ireland). Dr. Jerry Krassner, an astronomer and former NASA space shuttle mission specialist applicant, will be onboard to enhance the experience.

Oceania Vista ship – 25-day Grand Voyage with 93% eclipse coverage. Commencing on August 2, 2026, from Southampton, the Oceania Vista will undertake a 25-day round-trip voyage. Destinations include Falmouth, Holyhead, and Kristiansand. The eclipse is expected to be viewed off the coast of Belfast. NASA Solar System Ambassador Ted Blank will provide astronomical commentary during the voyage.

Oceania Vista – 15-day segment with 93% eclipse coverage. This segment of the Grand Voyage departs Belfast on August 12, 2026, concluding in London. The journey encompasses ports such as Scrabster, Copenhagen, and Berlin. The eclipse viewing aligns with the departure date, offering guests a unique observational opportunity.

Oceania Sirena ship – 12-day voyage with 94% eclipse coverage. Departing Southampton on August 5, 2026, the Oceania Sirena will sail to Barcelona. Ports of call include Ferrol, Oporto, and Almeria. The eclipse is slated to be observed as the ship departs Lisbon. An enrichment guest speaker will be announced to provide additional context to the event.
