Phnom Penh (port locode KHPNH) is a Mekong River cruise port, capital and largest city in Cambodia, with population over 1,5 million (metro over 4,2 million). It is located in south-central Cambodia, fully surrounded by Kandal Province. The municipality is on 3 rivers - Tonle Sap, Mekong and Bassac. The surrounding areas are typical flood plains, and during the monsoon season floods are common as the river often overflows its banks.
