Olden is a village (urban area) in Stryn municipality, Sogn og Fjordane county (Norway). It is located at the mouth of Oldeelva river at the northern end of Oldedalen valley on Nordfjorden's southern shore. The 0.57-sq.kilometre (140-acre) village features a population of 500 (2013), giving Olden a population density of 874 inhabitants/square kilometre (2,260/ml2). Olden lies about 6 kilometres (3.7 miles) southwest of Loen village, a 16 km (9.9 miles) drive southeast of Stryn's municipal center, and 15 kilometres (9.3 miles) east of Innvik village.
The village of Olden is a tourist area of significant importance. In 2003 the cruise port in Olden boasted 61 cruise ship arrivals. Briksdalsbreen glacier is a popular hiking destination, located about 25 km (16 miles) south of Olden, at the end of Oldedalen valley. It is a tiny arm off the major Jostedalsbreen glacier. Two are the churches in Olden, Old Olden Church (created in 1759) and Olden Church (1934). An Iron Age burial mound was found in this Western Norway's region, but in recent history, most of the village was settled in the 17th century.
