Review of MS Vasily Surikov

The MS Surikov ship was built in 1975 in Austria and last refurbished in 2007. The 4-deck vessel (project Q-040) is owned and operated by the Russian shipping company Mosturflot (in Russian "Мостурфлот"). It is equipped with modern navigation systems and facilities, and has max passenger capacity of 150 guests. There are 62 twin cabins with 2 lower beds, 2 single cabins with 1 lower bed, 18 triple cabins with 2 lower and 1 upper beds, and 4 junior suites. All staterooms are outside.

One of only six ships built for the USSR's Communist elite, in 2007 MS Surikov was remodeled from ground up to feature oversized accommodations with enlarged and opening picture windows, bathrooms with separate shower stalls, individual air conditioning, vanity mirrors, modern hotel amenities (hairdryers, big towels, soaps shampoos). In 2014, all cabins were upgraded and now include flat TVs with international channels and mini-refrigerators. Wi-Fi internet was added to the ship's public areas.

The classically furnished and elegant cruise ship Vasily Surikov is ideal for exploring the waterways of Russia. The large dining room serves simple dishes with Russian influence. Onboard activities include folklore classes, traditional dance classes and Russian language lessons.
