Norwegian Star cabins and suites

NCL Star cabins for disabled passengers (wheelchair-accessible staterooms) are available in the following categories (with deck locations): Family Suite (SP – Deck 12), Mini-Suites (MA – Deck 11), Balcony cabins (BB – Deck 10 and BC – Deck 9), Oceanview (OK – Deck 8) and Inside cabins (IA – Deck 11, I1 – Decks 9 and 10).

The following is a review of Norwegian Star staterooms, covering amenities, furnishings, and included (complimentary) services:

All staterooms feature a sleeping area (bedside tables, two lower beds convertible to a queen-size bed, plus additional/optional bedding for extra passengers), an en-suite bathroom (toilet, sink, shower stall, bath products, hairdryer, towels), a lounge/sitting area (wardrobe with ample storage, vanity table, chair, smart HDTV with infotainment system, electronic safe, life jackets in the closet), mini-refrigerator, direct-dial telephone, and individual air-conditioning.

Suite accommodations include the following bonus amenities and perks:

• Most Suites and all Balcony cabins feature floor-to-ceiling sliding doors opening onto a private veranda furnished with a round table and two chairs; higher-grade Suites additionally feature sun loungers.
• All cabin furniture details can be viewed on the NCL Star cabin floor plans in the table above.
• The Haven Garden Villas feature a roof terrace with a private garden and outdoor dining area, whirlpools, private sunbathing and relaxation areas, separate living and dining rooms, three bedrooms (each with a private bathroom), a master bathroom (whirlpool tub and separate shower), and a media center with DVD/CD player. Additional perks include butler service, priority services (check-in, debarkation, tendering), in-room dining with evening treats, a special room-service menu, complimentary mini-bar and bottled water, luxury robes, deluxe bedding (pillow-top mattresses, pillow menu, slippers, towels), a cappuccino/espresso machine, complimentary specialty dining for breakfast and lunch, and complimentary limousine service (pier to airport).
• Deluxe Owner’s Suites have floor-to-ceiling windows (no balcony), a separate bedroom (king bed and walk-in closet), a separate living room with media center, a dining room, a bathroom with whirlpool tub and shower, and the same perks as the Garden Villas (excluding limousine service).
• Owner’s Suites include a separate bedroom (queen bed and walk-in closet), living room with media center, dining room, and a bathroom with Jacuzzi, whirlpool tub, and shower. These Suites include the same perks as above. Each Owner’s Suite can connect to a Mini-Suite or Balcony stateroom.
• Two-Bedroom Family Suites (Family Penthouses) include a living room with media center, dining area, a separate bedroom (queen bed), a bathroom with whirlpool tub and shower, and a second bedroom with its own bath and shower. These Suites include the same perks as the higher suite grades.
• SE–SF Penthouses include a sitting area with walk-in closet, sleeping area with a queen bed, bathroom with bathtub and shower, and a balcony open to Deck 13 above. They receive the same suite perks as noted.
• SP Window Family Suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows (no balcony), a sitting area with double sofa bed and queen bed, walk-in closet, and a bathroom with shower. They include the same suite perks as above.
• Mini-Suites (Studio Suites) offer a sitting area, two lower beds convertible to a queen, a walk-in closet, and a bathroom with shower.

Balcony cabins include a sitting area with dressing table, two lower beds convertible to a queen, a walk-in closet, and a bathroom with shower. Most Oceanview cabins feature a picture window, except categories OF and OG, which have porthole windows. Categories OK and OX have obstructed views due to lifeboats.

Since May 2015, Norwegian Cruise Line has charged a US$7.95 room-service fee fleetwide (including on Norwegian Star). The only staterooms exempt from this fee are those in The Haven. All passengers, however, may order complimentary morning coffee and Continental Breakfast via room service. Following implementation of the service charge, NCL upgraded the room-service menu, adding more hot breakfast items and expanding the food and beverage selection, available 24 hours a day.
