Norwegian Sun cabins review
NCL Sun cabins for disabled passengers (wheelchair-accessible staterooms) are available in the following categories and deck locations: Balcony (BD on Deck 8/Viking), Oceanview (OE on Deck 5/Atlantic), and Interior/Inside (ID on Deck 8/Viking and IA on Decks 9/Fjord and 10/Norway).
The following is an overview of Norwegian Sun staterooms in terms of amenities, furniture, and included (complimentary) services:
All staterooms feature a sleeping area (bedside tables, two lower beds convertible to a queen-size double bed, plus additional/optional beds for extra guests), an en-suite bathroom (WC, sink, shower stall, bath products, hairdryer, towels), and a lounge/sitting area (wardrobe/ample closet space, vanity table with chair, smart HDTV with infotainment system, electronic safe, life jackets stored in the closet, mini-refrigerator, direct-dial phone, and individual air-conditioning).
All Suites and Balcony cabins are fitted with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors opening onto a private veranda furnished with lounge furniture (a round table with two chairs or sun loungers). Detailed furniture layouts can be viewed in the NCL Sun cabin floor plans shown in the table above.
Bonus amenities/perks for Suites include but are not limited to butler and concierge service, priority services (check-in, debarkation, tendering at ports of call, dining reservations), in-room dining (with evening treats), a special room service menu, complimentary specialty restaurant dining (breakfast and lunch), complimentary mini-bar, bottled water, luxury cotton robes, deluxe bedding (pillow-top mattresses, pillow menu, slippers, towels), and a Cappuccino/Espresso coffee maker.
The Owner’s Suites feature separate living and dining rooms, a bedroom (queen bed), a balcony with whirlpool, and a bathroom with whirlpool bathtub and shower. Both Romance Suites are located on Deck 8/Viking and are named “Sun Suite” (portside, number 8003) and “Sky Suite” (starboard, number 8203). Each suite offers a large bathroom (with whirlpool and separate WC), a spacious walk-in closet with vanity, a combined bedroom-living room (with round dining table, double sofa bed, queen bed convertible to twins), and a private veranda.
Penthouse Suites vary by category: SF features a whirlpool bathtub, while SG is a modified balcony cabin designed for disabled guests. Both types have private balconies and two lower beds (convertible). Mini-Suites (also known as Studio Suites) offer two lower beds (convertible), and a bathroom with bathtub and shower.
Balcony, Oceanview, and Inside cabins feature two lower beds (convertible to a double) and a bathroom (with WC and shower). Oceanviews differ by window type: categories O1, O2, OA, and OB have Picture Windows, while categories OF, OG, OH, OI, OJ, and OX have a single round Porthole Window.
IMPORTANT: Since May 2015, Norwegian Cruise Line has charged a US$7.95 room service delivery fee. This fleetwide fee applies to Norwegian Sun as well. The only passengers exempt from the fee are those staying in “The Haven” suites. As an exception, all guests may order complimentary morning coffee and Continental Breakfast via room service. Along with the fee introduction, NCL upgraded the room service menu by adding more hot breakfast items and expanding the 24-hour food and beverage selection.
