Norwegian Jewel cabins and suites

NCL Jewel offers wheelchair-accessible (ADA) staterooms in the following categories and deck locations: Penthouse Suite (SF – deck 9), Mini-Suite (M1 – deck 11), Balcony (BB – deck 10, BC – deck 9), Oceanview (OK – deck 8), and Interior/Inside cabins (IE – deck 4; IC – deck 11; ID – deck 8; I1 – decks 10 and 11).

The following is a review of Norwegian Jewel’s staterooms, covering amenities, furniture, and included (complimentary) services:

All staterooms feature a sleeping area (bedside tables, two lower beds convertible into a Queen-size bed, plus additional/optional beds for extra passengers), an en-suite bathroom (WC, sink, shower stall, bath products, hairdryer, towels), and a lounge/sitting area (wardrobe/ample closet space, vanity table, chair, smart HDTV with infotainment system, electronic safe, life jackets in the closet, mini-refrigerator, direct-dial phone, and individual air conditioning).

All Suites and Balcony cabins have floor-to-ceiling sliding doors opening onto a private veranda furnished with a round table and two chairs or sun loungers. Detailed furniture layouts are shown in the NCL Jewel cabin floor plans in the table above.

Suite accommodations include a range of bonus amenities and perks: butler service, priority services (check-in, debarkation, tendering, dining and show/spa reservations), in-room dining (plus evening treats), a special room service menu, invitations to private events, complimentary mini-bar and bottled water, luxury cotton robes, deluxe bedding (pillow-top mattresses, pillow menu, slippers, towels), walk-in closets, a Cappuccino/Espresso coffee maker, complimentary specialty restaurant dining (breakfast and lunch), and complimentary limousine service (pier–airport).

Guests staying in NCL Jewel’s The Haven suites also enjoy exclusive access to The Haven Courtyard, including a private sun deck, pool and whirlpool (with valet service), and a private fitness area.

• The Haven Garden Villas feature separate living and dining rooms, three bedrooms (one with a king bed; the other two with private bathrooms, rollaway beds, and cribs), a master bathroom (whirlpool bathtub and separate shower), and a media center with a DVD/CD player.
• The Haven Courtyard Penthouses include a master bedroom (queen bed), a smaller bedroom with private bathroom/shower, a bathroom with whirlpool bathtub and shower, and separate living and dining areas.
• Balcony Family Suites (2-Bedroom Suites / Family Penthouses) include a master bedroom (queen bed), a smaller bedroom with private bathroom/shower, a living room with dining area, and a bathroom with whirlpool bathtub and separate shower.
• SE–SF Penthouse Suites offer sitting and sleeping areas (queen bed), a bathroom (bathtub and shower), and a minibar. Category SF consists of aft-facing “Romance Suites,” while Category SE refers to forward-facing suites with large balconies overlooking the ship’s bow. Veranda partitions are semi-private.
• Mini-Suites (Studio Suites) include two lower beds (convertible to queen) and a bathroom with bathtub and shower.

Balcony, Oceanview, and Inside cabins have two lower beds (convertible) and a bathroom with shower. Most Oceanview categories include one Picture Window, except OF and OG (with Porthole Windows). Categories OK and OX have fully or partially obstructed views due to lifeboats.

Since May 2015, Norwegian Cruise Line has charged a US$7.95 room service fee, implemented fleetwide (including on Norwegian Jewel). Guests staying in The Haven suites are exempt. All guests may still order complimentary morning coffee and Continental Breakfast via room service. After introducing the fee, NCL upgraded the room service menu with more hot breakfast items and an expanded 24-hour food and beverage selection.

During the two-week 2018 drydock refurbishment, all 1,188 staterooms were upgraded with new HDTVs and USB outlets, new carpeting, furniture, and artworks. The Haven complex received courtyard updates, and all villas and suites received new finishes, tiles, drapes, carpets, artworks, and furniture. Additional cabanas were added to the Sun Deck. Two new Haven Deluxe Owner’s Suites were introduced (max capacity 4 passengers; suite size 1200 ft2 / 112 m2; balcony size 565 ft2 / 53 m2, featuring a terrace whirlpool).
