Norwegian Encore cabins and suites

On the Breakaway-Plus class NCL Encore:

• The total number of The Haven suites is nearly doubled compared to the Breakaway-class ships, offering 95 suites, including two additional Owner’s Suites (each featuring two balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows).
• The Haven Spa Suites are located close to the complimentary Thermal Suite and the Fitness Center.
• The Studio area (a complex of single-occupancy cabins for solo travelers with keycard-only access) has been expanded to 82 units, compared to 59 on the Breakaway-class ships. This area has its own exclusive lounge.
• Family accommodations include 40 Mini-Suites (near the Splash Academy), 172 Family Balcony cabins (near kids’ facilities), 48 Oceanview cabins, and several Inside family cabins (with an additional Pullman bed).
• A Haven Suite may be connected to a Balcony cabin. The ship offers a total of 308 Mini-Suites, 1088 Balcony cabins, and 374 Inside cabins. The 82 Studio staterooms for solo travelers feature virtual views. The ship also offers more connecting cabins across all categories.

The following is a review of Norwegian Encore staterooms, focusing on amenities, furnishings, and included services:

All staterooms feature a sleeping area with standard twin beds (convertible to a queen-size bed, with a leather headboard and a lighted recess above), an en-suite bathroom (WC, sink, shower stall, bath products, hairdryer), and a lounge/sitting area (full-size wardrobe, vanity, ample storage). Additional amenities include a smart HDTV (26-inch infotainment system, with a recessed nook below), electronic safe, life jackets (in the closet), mini-refrigerator, direct-dial phone, writing desk with four power outlets (two American, two European), individual air-conditioning, and keycard-activated lighting. Bathrooms offer a sink with storage below, glass-door shower, shower dispensers, and luxury bath products (Elemis in Haven and Spa categories).

The premium accommodations are found in The Haven Suite categories. Haven guests enjoy exclusive access to the Courtyard outdoor relaxation complex, offering a private pool/whirlpool, sundeck, fitness center, and valet service. Additional perks include keycard access, welcome gifts (Champagne, fruit, flowers), in-suite dining (full breakfast menu, evening treats), pillow menu, luxury mattresses, upgraded bedding, plush slippers, terry towels, 24-hour butler and concierge service (including luggage unpacking), large HDTVs (with DVD players), coffee machines, refrigerators, priority services (check-in, disembarkation, tender boarding, dining reservations), and complimentary specialty-restaurant dining for breakfast and lunch.

• H2 and H3 Owner’s Suites include a separate living room, dining area, large dressing area, full bathroom (separate shower, bathtub, WC, double-sink vanity), an additional half-bath, floor-to-ceiling windows, wraparound balcony (H2 Deluxe), and a master bedroom with a king bed.
• H4 Family Villas (two-bedroom suites) include a separate living room with dining area and single sofa bed, plus a luxury bathroom (separate shower, bathtub, WC, double-sink vanity).
• H5 Courtyard Penthouses offer a living area with a single sofa bed and a bathroom with shower/bathtub, double-sink vanity, and WC. H6 Penthouse Suites (aft) feature bathroom window views overlooking the veranda. H7 Penthouse Suites (forward) feature porthole window views from the bedroom overlooking the bow.
• H8–H9 Spa Suites feature soothing décor, floor-to-ceiling windows, a whirlpool bath, a separate bathroom (double-sink vanity, WC, waterfall shower with jets), and convenient access to the Mandara Spa & Fitness Center, plus complimentary unlimited Thermal Suite access.

Mini-Suites and Balcony cabins include convertible queen beds, sofa beds, double sinks (two faucets), and under-sink storage.

Family Oceanview cabins accommodate up to five guests and measure 220 ft2 / 20 m2. Studios for solo travelers have a full-size bed, split bathroom (separate WC/sink and shower), corridor window view, and keycard access to the exclusive Studio complex.

Since May 2015, Norwegian Cruise Line has applied a US$7.95 room service fee fleetwide (including on NCL Encore). Guests in The Haven Suites are exempt. All passengers may still order complimentary morning coffee and Continental Breakfast. Following the implementation of the service charge, NCL upgraded the room service menu with more hot breakfast items and a wider 24-hour food and beverage selection.

Handicap/wheelchair-accessible cabins

NCL Encore’s gangways accommodate most wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

The ship offers 47 accessible cabins, all equipped with wider doors, roll-in showers, grab bars, lowered sinks and closet rods, raised toilets, amplified phones, and captioned TVs.

All public restrooms have accessible stalls and automatic doors. Every deck has elevator access. All dining venues, bars, and lounges provide wheelchair-friendly seating.
